BACKGROUND OF THE CASE STUDY

This study was conducted at barangay North Poblacion, Maramag,

Bukidnon. Near Crystal Sugar Milling Corporation, which produces sugar. The
proponents chose to conduct their case study to the said area by the said family
because they know that they can gather more details and information there for their
case study may manage help to reduce the risks that the family can get from the
environment they live in. The purpose of this study is to know the problems of the
clients and apply nursing process such as health teachings, to a family under the
students care. In order to complete the study, the proponents conducted a complete
health history and physical, analysis data from assessment, diagnosis problems,
plan actions to resolve problems, implement the plan, evaluate the progress of the
plan, make conclusions for the result of the study being done.
The proponents assessed the present condition of the family and determine
the health threat and health deficit affects the said family and whole community.
The proponent were appointed to conduct a study on the health problems of
the family of Mrs. Tapia a 45 years old woman. She was chosen among all residents
because of her current condition. She has a goiter and a multiparous woman.
From initial to followed up assessment that was conducted on the length of
five weeks, the proponents thoroughly made an assessment to get complete data of
the client's health problem including their family's health status, and the kind of
environment that live in that might contribute bad effect to their health. The family
were very dose to each other. All in all they are 10 in the family including her
husband. The family was very close to each other, they even divide the works or
household chores. They usually bond when they're all in the house and watch
television together. They have a small store in their place which is prone to smokes
from the crystal milling company and cigarettes. Their house is surrounded with
many flowers and vegetable plants. The houses in their area was very close to each
other. Their house is made of concrete and it has three rooms. The family chosen
was working together and their household chores was wen distributed.
Then, nursing interventions where performed to find solution or to minimize
the health risk; and to provide health teaching that can help them in preventing the
diseases that they may inquire to their place. Nonetheless, further observation and
research are still going on to minimize if not eradicate the problems being identified.
