Digitization/selection of area suitable for soilbunds/earth bunds, stone terraces and

feeder roads in BUC

Objective:

To digitize BUC area more suitable for soilbunds, stone terraces and feeder roads
using High Resolution images and field work with scale of 1:5000

i. Scope of the work

The consultant will carry out activities under these ToR and deliver services and
documents as follows:

1. Study the existing maps, Very high resolution satellite images, and identify
features to be captured.
2. Locate the best site for appropriate soil bunds/Earth bunds measures in the
watershed based on area. Specify the accuracy, reliability and consistencies of
the map
3. Submit the report along with the maps as mentioned in the ToR

ii. Study area

The study area shall consist of the current Biji Upper Catchment (BUC)
boundary.

iii. Methodology

Preliminary meeting and discussion to create understanding for the

preparation of the final maps
Collect and review of the existing topographical maps, Landcover/landuse
maps, soil maps, drainage map etc. and identify the features to be captured
and collect data on field as per the necessity of the preparation of GIS soil
bund map.
Identify and map out of areas suitable for earth bund, stone terracing and
digitise feeder roads in BUC.
The consultant will have field missions to the catchment as required

Duration and Cost

10 Sep 2017 up to 30 Sept 2017 (20 days), with consultant daily rate of
$140 (One hundred-fourty dollar)

Output and deliverables

The consultant will deliver his output/deliverables like map layout to GIS
section in GIZ office in weekly basis in the form of EPS/AI/JPEG/PDF
format. The consultant is also liable to handover the layout in ArcGIS .mxd
format with all edited layers and linked databases. The consultant will
finally submit a report on his works and outputs at the end of his assignment.
