1. Perform circular convolution of the two sequences x 1(n) = {2,1,2,1} and
x2(n) = {1,2,3,4}
2. Check whether the system is Linear, Time invariant, causal, stable, dynamic:

3. Give the equation for the order N, major, minor axis of an ellipse in case of
Chebyshev filter.
4. What is warping effect?
5. What are the characteristics of the windows?
6. Give the formula for windowing techniques?
7. What are the quantization errors to finite word length registers in digital filters?
8. What does truncation of data result in?
9. For the multirate system develop an expression for y(n)

12. (a) Design a butterworth digital IIR Highpass filter using Bilinear [13]
Transformation by taking T=0.1sec to satisfy the following
specification 0.6 | H(ejw) | 1 for 0.7
| H(ejw) | 1 for 0 0.35 and realize
it using direct form II

(b) Design a Chebyshev filter for the following specification using [13]
impulse invariance transformation
0.8 | H(ejw) | 1 for 0 0.2
| H(ejw) | 1 for 0.6

13. (a) Design an FIR LPF with cut-off frequency of about 1KHz and [13]
sampling frequency of 4 KHz with 11 samples using Hanning
window
Or
(b) Design an FIR BPS to pass frequencies in the range 1.5KHz to [13]
3 KHz and sampling frequency of 8 KHz with 7 samples using
fourier series method.

14. (a) (i) An IIR filter with difference equation y(n) = x(n) + aY(n-1) [7]
having a=0.5 and the data register length is 3 bits plus a sign
bit x(n) = 0.875 for n = 0
0, otherwise.If rounding off is applied after
arithmetic operation, determine the limit cycle behavior.
(ii) Explain about Product Quantization Error. [6]

(b) Determine the scaling factor for the following system [13]

15. (a) Explain the concept of decimation by a factor D and [13]


interpolation by factor I with the help of equations.

power.

band with cutoff frequency of 1000 Hz and down 10dB at 350
Hz. The sampling frequency in 5000Hz.
