 Optimization Background and Target

FDD-LTE network optimization is a process during which network

optimization engineers analyze an existing FDD-LTE network
based on its actual behaviors and, if necessary, adjust network
parameters properly to improve its performance so the FDD-LTE
network can supply better services under current system
configurations and meet subscribers increasingly higher
requirements.
Optimization of an FDD-LTE network includes RF optimization
and maintenance optimization.

Input
Network optimization project contract, FDD-LTE network design reports or
reports on last network optimization, individual base station check reports,
and information table of networks base stations.

 Project Initiation

Purpose
Detailed information of the network optimization project, and the
customers goals on this project.
Scope of target areas to be optimized, key coverage areas as well as their
scopes and environmental characteristics, especially information for areas
that have special demands for voice or data service. Additionally, different
areas may have different service requirements for the data service, accurate
information is required from the customer.
Longitude and latitude, type of each base station, antenna height, sector
azimuth, antenna downtilt, antenna type, feeder length, etc.
System parameter configuration, including parameters related to the data
service such as SGW, PDN, IP address configuration, etc.
Existing network problems which subscribers cannot tolerate. These problems
should be highly prioritized during network optimization.
