About the Tasmanian Art Award
TASMANIAN ART AWARD at Eskleigh was conceived as a competition, exhibition, and
sale of works. The format was designed to facilitate the publics exposure to the
work of artists and to reward their efforts with cash prizes and the announcement of
annual award for excellence decided by a panel of independent judges. Folding cello,

The inaugural exhibition was held in May 1992 and won by Carol Dell (Reynolds), of Size: W700 x H1000,
Launceston, for her oil painting titled View with a Red Roof. This work was acquired Reserve: $18,500
by Eskleigh and marked the start of the Eskleigh Art Collection. Since its inception,
the Eskleigh Art Collection has grown to 24 works, independently valued at $80,000.
All proceeds go to the Eskleigh residents. Flower Composition,
Funds raised from this years awards will be used to purchase a new purpose built Stephen Coull (1995 winner),
wheelchair bus which will increase the Community Access program for Eskleigh Size: W760 x H760,
