Autodesk 3ds Max 2018.

1
Features and benefits
3ds Max 2018.1 puts VR authoring tools in the hands of design visualization artists and generalists. A key new feature of the release is
3ds Max Interactive, a robust virtual reality engine that gives you the power to create immersive and interactive architectural
visualizations. The 2018.1 release also includes UX and UV Unwrap fixes, giving 3ds Max a boost to keep running even more
smoothly.

3ds Max Interactive

With the release of 3ds Max 2018.1, you can now connect your 3ds Max scene to the real-time Max Interactive VR engine in just a few
clicks. Create stunning architectural scenes by starting in the familiar 3ds Max environment, then transform them into interactive and
immersive experiences in the VR engine.

Optimize and refine scenes in 3ds Max, then connect - or reconnect - the data in 3ds Max Interactive at any point of your workflow. This
lets you move a single object, multiple objects, or an entire scene into a real-time environment without ever leaving the 3ds Max
workspace.

Sample projects help you get started in 3ds Max Interactive, with templates for the HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, and mobile VR devices.
You'll be equipped with device-specific content like Lua scripts, Flow nodes, and controller models, all pre-set with appropriate project
settings. This will help you dive right in to building interactive and immersive VR experiences.

Updates assets quickly

Live linked cameras between 3ds Max and 3ds Max Interactive's viewport cameras make it easier to review 3D scenes. 3ds Max
Interactive makes iterating easier than ever: update 3D content in 3ds Max and send it to the VR engine in just one click.

Translate materials easily

Save time creating material with ShaderFX by only creating them once: physically based materials created in ShaderFX can be
transferred between 3ds Max and 3ds Max Interactive, and V-Ray materials in 3ds Max are converted to ShaderFX materials in 3ds
Max Interactive when sent over.

Faster VR content creation

Connect the 3ds Max Interactive editor to multiple deployment platforms for faster VR experience building and testing. Changes made
in 3ds Max Interactive can be pushed to deployment platforms without recompiling, so designers and visualization artists can quickly
test and make changes.

Modern, data-driven architecture

3ds Max Interactive is a modern VR engine built around a data-driven core architecture, and is designed to be lightweight and flexible
even for non-development professionals and artists.

Captivating visuals
3ds Max Interactive features a physically based renderer so that visualization artists and generalists alike can create beautiful,
photorealistic-looking scenes. It also has a high performance reflection system, advanced particle effects, post-processed visual effects
and global illumination GPU lightmap baking.
