Features and benefits
3ds Max 2018.1 puts VR authoring tools in the hands of design visualization artists and generalists. A key new feature of the release is
3ds Max Interactive, a robust virtual reality engine that gives you the power to create immersive and interactive architectural
visualizations. The 2018.1 release also includes UX and UV Unwrap fixes, giving 3ds Max a boost to keep running even more
smoothly.
Optimize and refine scenes in 3ds Max, then connect - or reconnect - the data in 3ds Max Interactive at any point of your workflow. This
lets you move a single object, multiple objects, or an entire scene into a real-time environment without ever leaving the 3ds Max
workspace.
Sample projects help you get started in 3ds Max Interactive, with templates for the HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, and mobile VR devices.
You'll be equipped with device-specific content like Lua scripts, Flow nodes, and controller models, all pre-set with appropriate project
settings. This will help you dive right in to building interactive and immersive VR experiences.
Captivating visuals
3ds Max Interactive features a physically based renderer so that visualization artists and generalists alike can create beautiful,
photorealistic-looking scenes. It also has a high performance reflection system, advanced particle effects, post-processed visual effects
and global illumination GPU lightmap baking.
