c. Do research on your question and find relevant information.
d. Use an online tool to create a presentation.
e. Use different ways to demonstrate information of your question: video, text, links, etc.

INTRODUCTION/ READINESS
1. Greet everyone and ask them all the take a seat.
2. "Do Now" - Share three things with your partner that you know about batteries.
3. Review what we will be doing today.

DIRECT INSTRUCTION (I DO)
1. What is STEM?
i. Ask if anyone knows what it stands for.
ii. What subjects are being taught in STEM currently?
iii. Play the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5GWhwUN9iaY
2. Explain the "big" assignment.
i. Ask a STEM related question.
ii. Research your question.
iii. Use multiple sources to answer your question.
iv. Choose an online source to demonstrate the answer to your question.
GUIDED PRACTICE (WE DO)
1. Hand out my informal rubric for them to grade me.
i. Explain that this assignment is out of 15 points and that each category is
worth up to 3 points. In each box grade me in that area, and be ready to
explain why you did that after the presentation.
2. Present my Prezi presentation to that class: https://prezi.com/p/tvmbepejkyee/
3. Discussion: Have the class share their thoughts on my presentation.
i. Did it ask a STEM related question? Was it informative and interesting to watch?
ETC.
4. Collect the graded rubrics.
CLOSURE
1. Toward the end of the class ask the students to sign out of their computers.
2. Ask if any of the students decided on what their question would be and if they
would be willing to share it with the class.
ASSESSMENT
1. Assessment is an overall process of participation (in this case the rubrics, class
discussion, and individual work).
2. Their final grade is based on overall participation in class, how they spent their
individual practice each day, and the results of their "big" project.
