ABSTRACT
As the Internet encroach every aspect of the economy and society, it is also
becoming an essential element of our childrens lives. Though it can bring
considerable benefits for their education and development, it also exposes them
to online risks such as access to inappropriate content, harmful interactions with
social maniac, exposure with marketing loot as they do have less bargaining
power and prone to the cyberspace crimes like recent Shadowy Blue Whale
experiment. Children are also worst affected by the ill practice of social
networking and threat to them whether sexual or privacy has become very
common.

The Blue Whale challenge is a suicide game where the player is given various tasks
by an administrator over a 50-day period, ranging from isolation to self-harm and
ultimately suicide. It is believed to have originated in Russia; the game has
allegedly claimed over 130 deaths so far, with multiple teen suicides in India. The
Blue Whale Challenge begins with free will, but soon, the curator becomes a bully.
Reports show that curators threaten to hurt the players if they show reluctance in
continuing with the challenge. Problem is, threats and bullying are not practices
that will end with the Blue Whale Challenge. Child can be threatened into
hurting him/herself outside the internet as well.

Now a day cyberspace is the place where children grow and learn, it is the duty of
the every regulator to secure the children in the cyberspace. Privacy and security
are the great concern while accessing cyberspace. Children are worst affected by
the ill-practice of cyberspace. It is need of the hour to look into the legal aspects
of the cyberspace and the child. Protecting the child from the cyber predators is
one of the key concerns in India. This article throws light on the offenses
committed to the child in the virtual space and need of protection of them. It
embarks upon various legal aspects related to the child and their right to access in
cyberspace.
