Animation 9 - Course Plan

Professional Semester III - Matthew Gough

Course Overview:
Animation is an illusion that tricks the eye into believing something is moving. This may be a
speeding spaceship, a bouncing ball or even a mad grasshopper. This 10-week course will teach
you the basics of animation through several challenges. In the challenges, you will take on the
role of an animation studio where you have been hired to complete different projects. Your
focus will be on understanding the Essential Questions presented with each challenge. For
each challenge, you will also complete the CTF Design Template for each project. This template
has three components:
Design: To be completed before you start your project.
Create: To be completed as you complete your project.
Appraise: To be completed after your project is complete.

Materials:
Computer Stations (1 per student)
Adobe Fireworks
Adobe Photoshop Elements
Digital Cameras
