Manager Projects

Job Objective: Drive end-to-end execution of the assigned project of Brigade Enterprises Limited (BEL) to ensure
timely completion of the same, adhering to defined standards of cost and quality. Drive operational efficiency and
cost savings through continuous process improvements and value engineering initiatives.

Primary Responsibility (Strategic, Operational, People and Financial responsibilities)

Strategic
Implement Brigade Standards of Excellence in the assigned project; Drive continuous improvement,
innovation and value engineering initiatives
Survey the environment for latest developments and best practices in construction equipment, techniques
& tools; Provide inputs to superiors on the feasibility of implementing the same in BEL
Contribute regularly to the Knowledge Management Framework of BEL; Constantly share learning and
experiences from projects within the Department
Operational
Work closely with the consultants and architects to ensure timely receipt of drawings (and BOQs);
Highlight concerns / issues and provide inputs on the feasibility / practicality of construction
Develop a project plan with timelines, resources and critical milestones; Obtain a sign-off on the plan from
the Chief Operating Officer Projects and circulate the same to all concerned BEL partners
Assist in the finalization of the contractor; Oversee total contract regulation, review and management for
the assigned project
Lead all project review meetings with the project team, consultants and contractors; Ensure timely
highlighting and resolution of design inadequacies, non-compliance to material indents and all other issues
Maintain project site reporting mechanisms and issue resolution procedures to ensure timely
communication of critical information from the projects site; Continuously monitor the project budget,
resource requirements, cycle time and productivity levels
Work closely and coordinate with various departments (Marketing, Finance, Legal, Liaison) as well as sub-
functions within Engineering to ensure smooth business operations
Assist the Quantity Survey Department in the checking and certification of bills from various BEL partners
(consultants, vendors, contractors) for the project; Follow up with finance to ensure timely payment
Undertake periodic audits at the project site and drive compliance with ISO and other quality & safety
standards (statutory and organizational)
Interact with Legal and Liaison Departments for statutory approvals and any site-related issues; Consult
with Human Resources & Administration on issues related to statutory compliances with respect to the
contractor
Liaise with Purchase Department for timely communication of material specifications, indenting and
sample selection; Provide inputs / modifications to the material delivery plan to ensure continuous supply
of material at the site
Build and maintain strong relations with the contractor; Periodically interact to identify any issues /
concerns and minimize non-tender items
Oversee smooth handling of customer visits to the project site; Ensure customer modifications / query
resolutions are handled within the pre-agreed timelines
Work closely with the Quantity Survey Department to:
Ensure timely preparation of debit & credit statements with respect to customer modifications
Finalize rates of the non-tender items
Oversee the timely handover of the Project to Marketing Department post completion; Ensure compliance
with all applicable laws & statutes and timely hand over of all property-related documents
Oversee the formulation of daily progress reports from project engineers; Prepare periodic MIS on
progress of the project and submit the same to the Chief Operating Officer Projects
Financial
Drive cost savings through process standardization, value engineering and effective project management
Assist in the development of the project budget; Monitor and ensure adherence to the same
People
Conduct performance appraisals of subordinates
Assess and fulfil training and career development requirements
Foster an environment of learning, excellence and innovation within all aspects of team work
Mentor and coach subordinates to develop the teams capabilities

Desired qualifications BE / B.Tech (Civil / Mechanical) with a Diploma in Construction Management

10 12 years of experience with at least 5 years experience in leading the Project
