What Shall This Man Do?

Culture Series Part 15

Pastor Kerry Wilson
What Shall This Man Do?
Culture Series Part 15
• John 17:21-23 (New King James Version)
• 21 that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in
Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us,
that the world may believe that You sent Me. 22
And the glory which You gave Me I have given
them, that they may be one just as We are one: 23
I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made
perfect in one, and that the world may know that
You have sent Me, and have loved them as You
have loved Me.
What Shall This Man Do?
Culture Series Part 15
• In my mind I believe that we have shown the
how that the leaven of culture has impacted
the ideologies and consequently actions inside
of the church.
• I believe we have established that the
kingdom has a culture, which if embraced can
have huge influence in the world that we live
in.
What Shall This Man Do?
Culture Series Part 15
• We have shown the power shift in post
modernism, culture realizing that the
powerful impose and influence the actions
beliefs and habits of any group. In fact people
have become weary of someone else telling
them what or how they should feel. They are
ready for something genuine and that doesn’t
create entitlement and victimization as the
social norm. In fact society is ripe for Change!
What Shall This Man Do?
Culture Series Part 15
• When Jesus assumed power, He also facilitated a
means by which that power could be imparted
and stewarded by a special group of people called
the church.
• This power that you have is for imparting the
gospel of Jesus, followed by signs, miracles and
amazement to a generation of on-lookers.
• The motivation is stated in our opening scripture
“that the world may know that God loves them,
just as He loved and Son and the Church.
What Shall This Man Do?
Culture Series Part 15
• This is why we preached the sermon last week
on what business we are in.
• In order to be in position for the work of the
kingdom, we must get our relationships right.
• Remember that starts vertically and then
moves horizontally. Our Wednesday evenings
have hit the mark, Prayer is the vertical
reparation for your relationship with God.
What Shall This Man Do?
Culture Series Part 15
• You can’t have a vertical relationship with God
that is Great and maintain horizontal
relationships with His creation that are distorted
and shipwrecked.
• Practical application of the greatest gift of all , ”
LOVE ” will empower you.
• It doesn’t matter how much we have allowed at
this point or what we have done, or mistakes we
have made, the key that unlocks this kingdom
door is WHAT WE ARE GOING TO DO FROM
HERE!
What Shall This Man Do?
Culture Series Part 15
• Matthew 25
• The Parable of the Wise and Foolish Virgins
• 1 “Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten
virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the
bridegroom. 2 Now five of them were wise, and five
were foolish. 3 Those who were foolish took their lamps
and took no oil with them, 4 but the wise took oil in
their vessels with their lamps. 5 But while the
bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and slept.
6 “And at midnight a cry was heard: ‘Behold, the

bridegroom is coming;[a] go out to meet him!’

What Shall This Man Do?
Culture Series Part 15
• Matthew 25:7-10 (New King James Version)
• 7 Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their
lamps. 8 And the foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us
some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’ 9
But the wise answered, saying, ‘No, lest there
should not be enough for us and you; but go
rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.’
10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom
came, and those who were ready went in with
him to the wedding; and the door was shut.
What Shall This Man Do?
Culture Series Part 15
• These are all virgins, or Christians.
• God moves in times and seasons, marked by
His involvement with the Church. Some may
think well as long as God isn’t moving in His
eternal plan there is no sense in me getting all
fired up for nothing. Notice this, it is okay to
sleep or to walk thru the open doors of your
generation but you must be careful how that
you go to sleep.
• We can’t make things happen without Eternal
authorization. We still remain responsible for
our condition.
• I am telling you that there is a stirring, an
awakening in God’s plan. Something is getting
ready to happen and if you aren’t awakened
ready, then I understand that you may not be
able to just get ready.
What Shall This Man Do?
Culture Series Part 15
• You may not agree with me on this next section
but I tell you that the place that we are at is
necessary for the next place we are going.
• How many of you agree that we are in desperate
need of “rain” in the spiritual sense?
• Farmers understand the nature of what the
necessity of the early rain is and of what the
imperative of the latter rain is. One is for sowing
the other is for harvesting.
What Shall This Man Do?
Culture Series Part 15
• I believe that the desert place that we are in and
the dry places that we are experiencing are to
create a desperation for the rain. A rain that will
produce a harvest for all the seed that has been
damaged, beat up by conditions of climate. It will
bring a restoration….
• God has only whetted our appetite with what we
have seen so that our desire will increase to the
place that nothing else is going to matter.
What Shall This Man Do?
Culture Series Part 15
• Exodus 3:7-8 (New King James Version)
• 7 And the LORD said: “I have surely seen the
oppression of My people who are in Egypt, and
have heard their cry because of their taskmasters,
for I know their sorrows. 8 So I have come down
to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians,
and to bring them up from that land to a good
and large land, to a land flowing with milk and
honey, to the place of the Canaanites and the
Hittites and the Amorites and the Perizzites and
the Hivites and the Jebusites.
What Shall This Man Do?
Culture Series Part 15
• God is raising up a generation of believers and
leaders for this cause.
• The Bible says that He heard the desperate
cries of His people for deliverance. They
couldn’t take it anymore, they weren’t
complacent in captivity, and by the word
“captivity” I mean not enjoying the blessing of
the God that they served.
What Shall This Man Do?
Culture Series Part 15
• This is a free one, why do you think that God told
Moses what He had heard. Because God raises up
leaders among men to lead them out. Such are
some of you in this building, some of you are in
different stages of your calling but God has you in
the desert , teaching and showing Himself, but He
is getting ready to put you in front of the Devil, to
deliver His people from this bondage.
• And God called some, Apostles, Prophets,
Pastors,etc…………
What Shall This Man Do?
Culture Series Part 15
• Harvest is the only thing left, our sprinkles
of the power and wonder of God only
compare to what He is going to provide for the
church when this rain begins. The signs and
wonders provided as faith builders for the
children of Israel were not even enough, when
they were faced with the Red Sea, but God is
big and He wants our dependence on Him, not
just for deliverance but for carriers of the
Gospel.
What Shall This Man Do?
Culture Series Part 15
• Matthew 24:3 (New King James Version)

3Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the

disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell
us, when will these things be? And what will
be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of
the age?”
What Shall This Man Do?
Culture Series Part 15
• Jesus begins his discourse on these questions
as most of you know. He speaks of all kinds of
evil things, disasters, and spiritual deception.
• Here is a great truth, these things don’t
determine the end, THE CHURCH , determines
the end, by the preaching of the gospel. God is
the one in control of this thing we know as
“Time”.
What Shall This Man Do?
Culture Series Part 15
• The Church must be in a place with God, where they
can discern the time or age we are living in.
• Luke 17:26-29 (New King James Version)
• 26 And as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be also in
the days of the Son of Man: 27 They ate, they drank,
they married wives, they were given in marriage, until
the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came
and destroyed them all. 28 Likewise as it was also in the
days of Lot: They ate, they drank, they bought, they
sold, they planted, they built; 29 but on the day that Lot
went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from
heaven and destroyed them all.
What Shall This Man Do?
Culture Series Part 15
• Societies that were likened or in the time frame of the
coming of Jesus.
• Marked by “thoughts of evil continuously”
• Sexual Perversion in all forms
• Power of the world system embedded and not easily
overcome
• Rise in the participation in the realm of the occult
• However the overriding characteristic is that nothing
intrinsically evil but that eating, drinking, selling,
buying, planting, building just all the things that
materially are attached to this earth distracting the
saints of God.
What Shall This Man Do?
Culture Series Part 15
• The kingdom is to be active and aggressive in
the demise of the powers of darkness. We
root-up, tear-down, destroy, and pull down
what any system that opposes God impairs His
creation with.
What Shall This Man Do?
Culture Series Part 15
• Matthew 24:32-34 (New King James Version)

32 “Now learn this parable from the fig tree:

When its branch has already become tender and

puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near.
33 So you also, when you see all these things,

know that it[a] is near—at the doors! 34 Assuredly,

I say to you, this generation will by no means pass
away till all these things take place
What Shall This Man Do?
Culture Series Part 15
• What is Jesus saying, He is saying that cultures
have been melted together, lost their identity,
become lost in translations.
• When you see all these dry trees which look
lifeless and fruitless re-kindled you know that
the time is know.
• Never in the history of man has “colonialism”
been rejected and “nationalism” embraced.
What Shall This Man Do?
Culture Series Part 15
• What does this mean pastor, people are going
home or embracing their heritage. They are
rejecting origin and dominance from another.
• Their identity and distinctiveness restored…
• Jesus said that when “the fig tree”, Israel
began their nationalistic attitude that others
would follow and from there you know that
“summer” is near or the time of His coming.
What Shall This Man Do?
Culture Series Part 15
• What you must realize is that this same
natural example is what happens in the
spiritual. The Church is going to be unified by
going back to their roots, the Bible and the
person of Jesus Christ. It is the prayer of Jesus
for Unity, all of this denominationalism and
break off systems would make their way
home.
What Shall This Man Do?
Culture Series Part 15
• This harvest and out pouring has been preceded
by God Himself. He has opened up the door of
intellectualism and allowed man to create a
venue for the power of the Church and the
Gospel.
• The Population of the Earth
• The Communication of the Earth
• The Travel of the Earth
• These have paved the way for the Spiritual
Explosion that is about to occur.
