Job Title: Purpose of the position:

MATERIAL COORDINATOR Provide administrative and technical support to

warehouse in managing material anomalies.
Reporting relationship:
Location : Moramanga

Job context
Management of repairable articles and material anomalies requires full responsibility from Material
Management to facilitate decision making with regards to acceptation or refusal of received materials at
warehouse, in compliance with pre-established specifications from maintenance or operation.

An effective communication with purchasing/logistics department, suppliers and end users ensures a timely
processing in order not to hinder production at plant.

The material coordinator has to identify and prepare all documents to code stored repairable equipment or
material with minimum or maximum threshold. He/she helps the repairable material Supervisor and planners
have all materials available when needed and help them find solutions if they have problems with the
materials. He/she ensures as well problem solving related to material anomalies upon reception to reduce
financial impact on production.
Main Accountabilities

1. Properly prepare, plan, organize and control
movements of materials repaired internally and
externally, and that need to be returned to

2. Initiate repaired material purchasing operations

(equipment recovery and availability) ; ensure supply
chain improvement by managing stock level and
negotiating operational cost reduction,

3. Control materials at reception: check if non-

compliance statements provided by storekeepers are
well-funded with regards to required specifications
for each item (description; QA/QC code; quantity).
Place items in quarantine in accordance with
anomaly management procedure

4. Ensure repairable items report transmission

5. Ensure transmission of anomaly reports to

purchasing service after validation of the warehouse

6. Ask for end users opinions to validate justifications

provided by suppliers

7. Ensure leadership, adhere and improve teams

safety procedures and interventions to achieve a
world-class performance in terms of occupational
health and safety

Requirements (Skills, Experience and Qualifications)
Skills: technical, managerial, organizational
Proficiency with computing tools (Microsoft Office, ERP);
Fluency in French and English (oral and written);
Organized, motivated and has a sense of initiative to achieve goals;
Knowledge of storage and warehouse operations.
Experience: level, field, duration
3 to 5 years experiences in a similar position;
Proven accurate experience as a controller, recipient, stock manager or re-supply agent.
Qualifications : Education, Additional Training(s)
Mechanical engineer or equivalent.
