MGA Meeting Minutes October 24, 2017

Discussion Topics:
Reviewed the Holley tournament. Several committee members received comments on
the validity of the handicaps of some of the competitors. The MGA will follow-up with
Rob Kinard and the Handicap Chairman to determine if there is any reason for concern
and if any action is appropriate.
Tournament Tee positions should be the same as normal daily play.
2018 tournaments The Burden tee flight will play lift clean and place through the green,
except for hazards and bunkers. Players must have 75% of their scores from the Burden
or Blended tees.
Alliance will be a one-day event on Saturday November 11, 2017 (10:00 am shotgun).
For the Year End Scramble, nonmembers will pay the same amount as MGA members.

Alliance Saturday November 11, 2017 10:00am Shotgun:


Sign up as a two-man team and then be paired with another two-man team by the Pro
Shop. The foursome will then play as a team over 18 holes in which they will take the 2
best net scores on each hole using 1 best ball net from each two-man team. Scores that
count toward the 2 best net scores must be putted out. There will be two flights, Spaulding
and Burden. The 4-man teams must play from the same tee.
Burden tee players must have 75% of their scores from the Burden or Blended tees. The
Burden tee flight will play lift clean and place through the green, except for hazards and
bunkers.
Competitors will receive 90% of their handicap as of 11/01/2017.
Each 4-man team must play from the same set of tees for the entire tournament.
Tournament winnings:
Approximately 40% of field for the Spalding flight
Approximately 50% of field for the Burden flight
In addition to tournament winnings, after play on Saturday, drawings for door prizes 60/40
tickets will be held.
We will also award two lucky participants a 1-day and a 2-day lesson package from our
teaching staff.
Please note: Areas highlighted above, these actions are being taken by the MGA to encourage
greater participation by members who have moved to the Blended and Burden tees
