Marking criteria
Quizzes: There will be 3 announced quizzes and the best 2 quiz marks will be in consideration for
grading purpose. Quizzes will consist of both theoretical and practical application related questions.
Project and Assignments: Students will be divided into groups of 4-5 members. Most class activities and
presentations will take place in this group. So be alert in choosing your group members. Do not think
that you can go ahead doing nothing in your group. I will take necessary peer evaluations at the end of
the semester and your grades will highly depend on the reflections of your group mates.
Quiz and Exam Pattern: The syllabus for the mid-term exam and question pattern will be declared in the
class. Usually the quizzes are objective and Math based. Mid Term and Final Exams are short question
answer and math based.
Participation: In class participation is worth 10% of your final grade. If you are absent from any class for
a legitimate reason, you should indicate that to the instructor so that you are not penalized for lack of
participation during that class. Opportunities for in-class participation include taking part in lectures by
asking questions and completing evaluation forms for group presentations

Expected Course Etiquettes
It is expected that you do not come in and out of the class time and again when the lecture is
going on.
Being on the phone during the lecture is considered as a sign of disrespect to the classroom
environment and the faculty.
No make-up quiz, case study and exam policy will be followed strictly.
Any kind of crying, wining, emotional talk will not help to improve your grade and get you a few
extra points. Any sort of request to increase grade without any valid justification may in fact
decrease your grade. You get what you deserve in my course.
In this course late assignments will be highly penalized.
Any form of cheating, plagiarism, disruptive and disrespectful behavior to course mates or
faculty will result in an F. If I do find any similar answers in your quizzes or mid terms, the exam
scripts will be submitted to the department with a note that the student was caught plagiarizing.
You are most welcome to share any kind of course/ personal academic queries with me. It will
be my pleasure if I can provide any valuable feedback.
