Course Overview
AP Calculus AB is primarily concerned with developing the students understanding of the concepts of calculus and
providing experience with its methods and applications. The course emphasizes a multi-representational approach to
mathematics, with concepts, results, and problems being expressed graphically, numerically, analytically, and verbally.
General Expectations
Students will

Larson, Hostetler, Edwards; Calculus of a Single Variable; 9th Edition; Houghton Mifflin: Boston New York; 2006
-in Grid Graph Paper Pencil/Eraser College-Ruled Notebook Paper Colored Pencils Course Folder/Binder
It is best if students have their own TI-83 or TI-84 graphing calculator. However, one may be borrowed during class and
tutorials, if necessary.

Grading
Criteria: 25% Class Work 75% Assessments
All work must be done in pencil. All work must be shown.
Late assignments are penalized per Humble ISD policy.
