1. LOGGING IN
a. Go to drive.google.com
b. Username is district username @whsd.us (EX: username@whsd.us) and password is
your email password (EX: Whsd1234) > SIGN IN
c. TAKE ME TO THE NEW DRIVE
2. CREATING A FOLDER
a. From left menu: NEW > FOLDER
b. In box, type name of folder > CREATE > folder appears
3. SHARING A FOLDER (file may be shared the same way)
a. Click folder to be shared (blue) > SHARE (person + icon in top toolbar)
c. Select CAN EDIT (people to share can edit files) or CAN VIEW (people to share cannot
edit files) > SEND
4. UPLOADING FILES
a. NEW > FILE UPLOAD (left menu)
b. Find file and click on it > OPEN > Upload bar turns all blue when file is completely
uploaded
i. OPEN - Opens file (select program) > Use this to convert file to Google Docs
format (FILES MUST BE CONVERTED TO EDIT IN DRIVE/DOCS)
ii. PRINT - Prints file
iii. SHARE - Share file with others
iv. DOWNLOAD - Download the file
v. MORE ACTIONS - Add Star, Rename, Report Abuse
vi. ZOOM IN
vii. DETAILS - General info, description, sharing, download permission
viii. POP OUT - Google Drive Viewer (choose default browser, add comments)
ix. CLOSE FILE - Exits preview mode
6. CONVERTING FROM WORD TO GOOGLE DOC (files MUST be converted to Edit in Drive)
a. Right click on Word Document > OPEN WITH > GOOGLE DOCS Docs)
b. SHARE (person + icon) - share files/folders (also can be done in preview) - see item 3
c. PREVIEW (eye icon) - Previews files - see item 5
d. TRASH (trash can icon) - Deletes files
i. Click on file > TRASH
c. Notifications (Bell)
d. Google + Share (Box +)
e. Account Profile (blue person) - Change photo, view profile, add account, SIGNOUT
