Title: Instant need of Disability Laws for Medical Professionals in India

Statement of the Problem

The quote of Mahatma Gandhi If you dont ask, you dont get suits best for need of disability
laws in India as Medical Professionals with disabilities are often undervalued. Mostly the seats
remain unfilled in medical and dental colleges even when three percent of seats are reserved for
disable students.

Research Question

India can learn from progress made by UK, USA and Canada for setting Identical Goals for
Medical professionals with Disability to get Employment.

Research design

This was accomplished by making Analytical Research on the progress recently made by Canada
for betterment of medical professionals with disability. A comparative study between United
States and United Kingdom to highlight strengths and weaknesses which can help India to give
existence to its disability laws.

Results

Disability cannot exist as barrier if an individual dreams to be a medical professional. The

General Medical Council of UK assert that to be a qualified doctor - a person must break barrier
of disability whereas the Under Americans Disability Act , health professionals and interns are
denied to get coverage under the Act.

Conclusion
There exists a huge challenge to add soul to disability framework in India. There needs to be a
change in mind set of people towards disables. Also Disable Patients feel comfortable with
physicians like them. To speed up progress, Media can play a huge role to bring change in
society.
