Chemical farming hazards

I have grown up in a family that has a lot of experience working in farms. father has seen

all the types of chemicals that are put in crops that we eat.Sometimes my father and i wonder if

these chemicals can eventually kill us.Chemicals used to produce more crops arent beneficial

for the planet and humans. Now we will see how these chemicals affect the world and

humans. We will see the number of people affected by chemicals used in farming. We will also

see the side effects these chemicals have on people.Last but not least we will see the effects these

chemicals have on the environment.

The number of people affected by these chemicals have increased over the last few

years. These numbers have increased because farmers have increased their use of chemicals to

produce more crops .For example in california in the year 2004 farmers used 184 different types

of pesticides in a strawberry farm. The farmers spread more than 248 pounds of pesticides per

acre of strawberries. That much chemicals can affect thousands of people that are around that

farm. This can lead to pollution in water and in the air that will affect millions of people

There are a variety of chemicals used in farming . Most of these chemicals are dangerous to

humans and the environment. Some chemicals have really serious side effects .For example ,the

side effects that pesticides have on people are cancer, autism, memory loss, diabetes ,birth defects
and others. Those are just a few side effects that these chemicals have on people.Other side

effects can be seen in animals too .Another example would be that pesticides cause cattle to have

kidney failure and other digestive problems that lead to death. Those are some of the most

common types of side effects that chemicals such as pesticides have .

Pesticides and other chemicals have are really bad impact on the environment.

Pesticides are causing dead zones which are places where the ground or water is a hazard to

any life that is close by .An example would be that in 2008 405 dead zones were in the ocean.

Meaning that there was no living thing in those areas. The cause of these dead zones synthetic

fertilizer that is highly water soluble. This is just one example of chemicals that have affected

the environment and living organisms.

We can all help our environment and ourselves by buying organic crops that are sold in

certain stores. That will help stop some of the crops that have chemicals in them from being sold

to humans .Now that we looked at how at many people are affected we should stop using these

chemicals.Another reason that we should stop using these chemicals are from looking at all the

side effects they have ,like cancer, birth defects etc.Last but not least we looked at how these

chemicals affect the environment ,they cause dead zones and other effects. That's why we

should stop using these chemicals .Now it is up to us to keep our planet and the future

generations safe from these harmful chemicals .
