Human Body Metabolism

Human body is complex machine which consist of a number of biological systems that carry
out specific functions necessary for everyday living, such as circulatory, digestive, respiratory, nervous,
excretory systems, etc. To be able to perform those complex functions normally, our body uses a series
of chemical processes that include nutrient breakdown from food then convert it into energy or to build
and repair our body. This control system is called metabolism. Metabolism take place in every cell of
our body. Thats why cell is defined as the smallest functional unit of body. Cell is covered by
membrane and composed by organelles that perform specific metabolic tasks. In the center of the cell
there is nucleus that has an important job to command the whole cells function. Inside nucleus reside
genes as the manual of your bodys own personalized instruction. Gene or DNA has an important role
in protein synthesis which specifically to do replication and transcription. The result of this process is
protein which later can be formed as enzyme, hormone, or other matter which helps a lot of chemical
reactions in our bodies.

The Importance of Blood Circulation in Medicine

The human circulatory system is responsible for delivering food, oxygen, and other needed
substances to all cells in all parts of the body while taking away waste products. The basic components
of the cardiovascular system are the heart, the blood vessels, and the blood. Blood is liquid connective
tissue, which is the bodys primary internal transportation system. As blood circulates around the body,
it transports oxygen from the lungs and delivers it to cells. It picks up carbon dioxide from the cells and
brings it to the lungs. It carries nutrients from the digestive system and hormones from the endocrine
glands to the cells. It takes heat and waste products away from cells. It protects the body by clotting and
by fighting disease through the immune system. Blood cell contains clotting proteins, electrolytes,
ferries proteins, hormones, nutrient molecules, carbon dioxide and other waste products. In medicine,
most of the drug administration route is through bloodstream because it can reach the diseased organ
quickly. But the major problem of this route is most drugs end up in the non-target organ and cause side
effect. The other problem is some drugs are bind to certain protein in blood while they are in the
circulation, so that the drugs cant be delivered to the target organ. To keep our body stable, all systems
work together, while the bloodstream links all our organs together, so that they can work in a
coordinated way.
