Lesson Objectives :

By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to:

(i) Perform jazz chants in group with correct pronunciation, rhythm and intonation.

Activities :

1. Teacher shows a slide of jazz chant.

2. Teacher guides the pupils to read the jazz chant and talk about

the content.

3. Teacher guides the pupils to chant with correct pronunciation,

rhythm and intonation.

4. Divide pupils into groups. Pupils practise the jazz chant

in groups with guidance.

5. Pupils take turn to perform in groups.

6. Pupils copy the jazz chant in Elastic Stick Book.

Get a few pupils to show and read their Flip Flap
Book aloud in front of class.
Pupils fill in the blanks and rewrite the sentences (worksheet).

3. Pupils read the paragraph in groups.
4. Get pupil to read the paragraph individually.
5. Pupils change the highlight words based on the
table given and read the paragraph.
6. Pupils attempt the comprehension questions

(i) Name eight types of food in the canteen.
Activities :
1. Teacher shows a slide of canteen situation and guides pupils to
talk about it.
2. Teacher shows a picture of different kind of food sold in the
canteen using slide.
3. Teacher asks a few questions. Pupils answer the questions.
a. Have you seen all these food before?
b. Can you name the food in the picture?
c. What type of food do you like or dislike?
4. Teacher shows the pictures of different type of food and the
name of the food using slide. Pupils say the name of the food.
5. Play a musical box game. The pupils pass the box and pick a card
when music stop and say out the name of the food.

Teacher calls a pupil to say and do the actions. Repeat the activities with other pupils.
Teacher introduces the body parts by performing a songIf youre happy and you know it.
Teacher guides the pupils to say and show the action to introduce the body parts, ie: chin, elbow,
knee and ankle.
Teacher calls a pupil and guides him/her to say and do the actions. Repeat the activities with other
pupils.
