systems with 6% Hydrogen
Peroxide can transform tooth
colour and create the perfect
platform for composites.

Dr Gregory Camaleonte graduated from the
University of the Mediterranean with a degree
in Dentistry in 2006. He then achieved his post-
graduate in 2008, with a degree in Aesthetic
and Adhesive Dentistry.
He now owns a private practice in Marseille, France,
and is an accomplished author and co-author of
several national publications.
Dr Camaleonte is also a member of established

A young woman came

into the practice looking
to improve the appearance
of her smile, particularly
the colour of her teeth.
The patient had three clear
problems:

Following three weeks of external

bleaching therapy, the overall colour
significantly improved. Both the value
and the chroma have been enhanced
and the colour is homogeneous across
the mouth...

After bleaching treatment, the incisors are now at

Vita Shade M3 and the canines are Vita Shade B1.

The patient was extremely happy with the

aesthetics of her teeth, and was ready to receive
the composite treatment.

 THE COMPOSITE WORK

Three weeks after external bleaching,

the patients missing and disfigured
teeth were treated using a combination
of direct composites and semi direct
crowns.

Direct Composites
The patient was missing both lateral incisors - 12
and 22. To solve this, 13 and 23 were treated with
direct composites to build out the structure of each
tooth and transform them into incisors.

Semi Direct Crowns

A significant volume of the patients deciduous
teeth - 53 and 63 - was missing and had to be
replaced. Using semi direct crowns, the teeth have
been covered to improve strength and improve the
appearance of the patients smile.

Two conclusions can be deduced from this case...


In cases where implants are too expensive
for the patient, composites are a reliable and
durable solution to missing and disfigured teeth.
