Clinical Experience
Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital, Emergency Department Midlothian, VA
202-hour Clinical Immersion (Fall 2017)
Worked closely with my preceptor to hone my nursing skills, and to make the transition from nursing student
to registered nurse a smooth and successful one.
Skills include performing assessments, accurate documentation (Connect Care), prioritization, collaborating with staff,
and providing great patient care in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in hands-on skills, including IV starts, lab draws, medication administration (PO, IV, IM and subcutaneous
injections), foley catheter insertion/removal, CPR, bladder scans, etc.

Career Experience
Bon Secours St. Marys Hospital, Department of Forensic Nursing Richmond, VA
Unit Secretary/Patient Care Tech (June 2016 present)
The Forensic Nursing Department consists of 13 nurses who are passionate about helping victims of sexual/physical
abuse and human trafficking. While they travel to different hospitals throughout the Richmond area to see patients, they
operate out of a medical office at St. Marys that I assist in keeping organized.
Duties include answering phones, scanning and importing patient charts, restocking exam rooms, assisting with exams
as needed, distributing patient charts when necessary, communicating with law enforcement/social services, and other
administrative tasks.

Chippenham Hospital Emergency Department Richmond, VA

ER Tech (March 2015 June 2016)
Job duties covered everything from checking patients in at Triage, putting them on heart monitors, taking vital signs,
drawing blood, performing EKGs, assisting in pelvic exams, scheduling consults, performing CPR, assisting in patient
toileting, stocking supplies, applying orthopedic splints, and more.
Every day was different and I learned what it means to prioritize, hustle, and multitask while still keeping patient care
the number one priority.

Sheltering Arms Rehabilitation Hospital Mechanicsville, VA

Nursing Tech (March 2013 March 2015)
Assisted patients in toileting, basic hygiene, eating, dressing, and general comfort. Performed/assisted (and am well-
trained) in patient transfers, as well as various mechanical lifts, including the Hoyer and Sera 3000.
Provided emotional support and encouragement to patients who were recovering from strokes, MVAs, joint replacements,
etc. It was a great environment to get my feet wet and affirmed my decision to move into the medical field.
