No School Friday, November 10th, in observance of Veterans Day

Parent-Teacher Conferences begin next week for all elementary and middles schools in CCSD!

Cox Parents Night Out at the Henderson Bounce U! Friday, 11/3 from 6-10 pm. Its a drop and
go and costs $25.00 per child and $20 per child after that. Bounce U is donating a percentage of
the proceeds that night to our school!
Cub Cheers: Congratulations to the students in Ms. Harrys Class they did our Friday Announcements last week and were
fabulous! Congratulations to the following students for receiving Cox Cub of the Week: AJ Corbin, Manuel Villejo, Madison

Ms. Peters, Mrs. Stackel, and Mrs. Piccininni! Great job
students for awesome behavior and participation in your specialist
classes!

Congratulations to the Box Top Winning Classes: The


following classes won for turning in the most Box Tops for our
Box Top kickoff event: First Place, Mrs. Peters (679), Second
Place, Mrs. Ball-Aguilar (626), and in Third Place, Mrs. Anderson
(471)! Thank you students and families for supporting our PTA
and our school!

Top AR Words Read for First Quarter: Congratulations to the following classes for reading the most words for the AR
Program (points are tallied each quarter): Mrs. Froehlichs Class (29,433), Mrs. Andersons Class (924,323), Mrs. Blohms
Class (2,229,477), Ms. Peters Class (4,783,695), Ms. Kirkpatricks Class (5,678,129), Mr. Shafrans Class (11,842,073)
and Ms. Finleys Class (55,539).

Perfect Attendance Awards: Each year the school district acknowledges our educators who NEVER miss a day of school
for being out sick all year long! For the 2016-2017 school year, congratulations goes to Ms. Deihl (our Counselor), Mr. Hale
(our PE Teacher), Mrs. Klein (our ECSE Teacher), and Mrs. Khamp (our ECSE Support Staff Teacher)! Wow!

Reflections Projects Due Dates are Almost HERE! All projects are due November 13th! Keep up the great work with the
Within Reach Theme! GO DAVID COX CUBS!

Parent Reminders: Dont forget to be checking your childs grades weekly on Infinite Campus and to refresh the app when
you log in to get the most up-to-date grades. Your phones can give you notifications when grades/assignments have been
entered. Also, you can find school information on our website, through the parentlink texts sent out, and in the weekly
newsletters. If you have questions about anything please call our front office!
More Congratulations to our School (second posting): David Cox won the SUMDOG Regional Math Competition! We
took first place and had 3 students place in the Top 10! Our school competed against other elementary schools and middle
schools in the Southeast Region! Congratulations to Mrs. Stackels Class for being the Overall Winner. We are so proud of
our students!

If you havent seen the newspaper article about David Cox, the State listed us as a Shining Star School for the state of

PTA News: Just a reminder that all Reflections Projects are due November 13th! Parents Night Out at Bounce U for
Cox is November 3rd from 6:00-10:00 pm. PTA needs soup donations for the upcoming Staff Soup Luncheon on
November 8th, Wednesday. Please contact Mrs. Theodosis if youre able to donate at Theodosis.mail@gmail.com

School Organizational Team Update (second posting): Elections were held at the last PTA Meeting on 10/10/17 and three
members were voted in! Congratulations and thank you for your service Mrs. Kristy-Jensen Coleman, Mr. Todd Nash, and
Mr. Richard Friesz! Our next SOT meeting for this year will be at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, November 14th in the Library prior
to the PTA meeting. As always, agendas and meeting notices are posted 3 days prior on our school website and the
community is always welcome. Community is always welcome and there is time allotted at each meeting for parent
discussions/questions (discussions/questions must be related to agenda topics).

Welcome New SEC Teacher: We would like to welcome our newest staff member, Mrs. Sheryl Finley! Ms. Finley graduated
from the CCSD ARL program in Special Education. She comes to us from Scholfield Middle School as an SEC and Resource
Room Teacher. She is very excited to join the elementary world here at David Cox.

Parent Teacher Conferences are HERE: November 6-9th are CCSD Parent Teacher Conferences for elementary and middle
school. There will be no school for students on Monday, November 6th and no school on Friday November 10th in observance
of Veterans Day. Students may attend with you at your teacher conferences.
