Assessment Map Summary

Entry-Level

Group Discussion/Answer: I would begin this using discussing the

following two questions with students:
1. What do you think the mood was like in the United States after
World War I?
2. How do you think people might have been affected by this?

I will use these to utilize their prior knowledge and use as a leeway into
the Post-WWI unit and towards WWII.

Formative

Pop Quiz: This quiz would follow the lecture lesson and would quiz the
students on their understanding and the amount of knowledge obtained
from the lecture and worksheet. I will have each student take the quiz
and print out their results to turn in.

Propaganda Poster: I want to use this assessment to gauge their

understanding of American opinion during Isolationism. Its purpose is
also to incorporate creativity and critical thinking in coming up with
their interpretation of what was going on during this particular time
through this activity.

Four Freedoms Speech: Create flashcards identifying 5 quotes from the

speech and explain their significance.

KWL Chart: This chart is used as a graphic organizer but really, its a
great source to use for assessment purposes. Having students fill out
What I learned sections allows educators to see what material was
obtained during that particular lesson.

Summative

Exit Slips: Following the KWL activity, printed sheets with one of four
questions will be printed out in advance and handed out at random.
Students will write a quick-write answering the question before they are
excused from the classroom for the day.

Essay: Students will compose an essay answering the question How did
American foreign policy influence the years between 1930-1941? For
what reasons did these policies change?
