Summary

Mr. Dayashree Jayasundara is working as an under Secretary in the pension department and one of his friend Gamini Lokugamage, an SBI PO, one day
informed Mr Dayashree about these details .

1. For last two years, a retired Government employee Mr.Udayantha Gampola is giving away 30% of his monthly pension to Mrs. Bindumathee every
month through cheque.

2. He found Mrs.Bindumathee happens to be the wife of Mr.Chathuranga Alwis, a section officer in the pension office under you (Dayashree
Jayasundara.)

3. He feel something is fishy- may be this is part of a large bribe scam where senior citizens are forced to pay money to clear their pension files from
Chathuranga Alwis, and have to submit bribes in his wifes account.

Then after that without doing any background research about that incident Mr. Dayashree went to meet Mr Udayantha Gampola and but he could not be
able to get some information about that incident due to Mr. Udayantha Gampolas sickness and after that he went to meet Mr. Chathuranga Alwis and then
asked about that incident at that moment Mr. Chathuranga Alwis explained it as a mere personal matter, and deny it in a harsh way.

In this situation we can clearly see this problem is related with two organizations. Those were pension department and State Bank of India (SBI). So, for
addressing this situation we have look at ethics regarding both organizations. Some of these ethics were,

Initially Mr. Dayashree Jayasundara should have analyzed this case and should have found the true
solution for this case and after that she should have taken an action. In this case Mr. Chathuranga can
be said any lie and then there is no point in argue with him and also Mr. Dayashree should have
reacted with proofs.

This can be an idea of Mr. Chathuranga because if he said to Mr. Udayanga Gamage to deposit the
money to the bank with his own name it can be caught to other people then he may be thought if he
said to deposit the cash with his wife name then it will not catch to the other people.

Sometimes statement which Mr Chathuranga said could be true because Mr. Dayashree has no any
proofs to prove that case to others because no any facts to prove that, Mr. Dayashree should have
collect some information on this incident by making background research on Mr. Chathuranga and
also Mr. Dayashree can get permission to access for the transaction records of the department and find
is there any fraud going around.

Things that Mr. Chathuranga alwis are true then, workers will lose faith on Mr. Dayashree as a leader
because suspicion without facts Mr Dayashree cannot do really argue with that incident with mr
Chathuranga Alwis about that incident.

And after recover the udayantha gamage illness then Mr. Dayashree Jayasundara should meet
Udayantha Gamage and should ask the true storey about this incident and should ask from Mr
Udayantha Gamage whether Mr. Chathuranga alwis said story is true or not and if it is false should
take an action to mr. Chathuranga Alwis and can be appeal a case in court and can get punish to Mr.
Chathuranga Alwis and should give a justify to MR. Udayantha Gamage and also to get warning to
other persons which have bribe from innocent people and should give a punishment for do not do
again a this type of falls him and always others.

And if it is true which Mr. Chathuranga Alwis said thing then Mr. Dayashree should apologize from
Mr. Chathuranga Alwis and should correct the error.

In this case Mr. Dayashrees behavior is cannot be accepted because Mr.Dayashree has no any facts or
any detail about the who is the liar then if Mr.Dayashree is wrong then she should care about her
responsibility and at least next time should analyze case and after that should take an action

Udayantha Gamage deposit the money to Mrs. Bindumathi Alwis then written statements should keep
with Mr. Udayantha Gamage and Mr. Chathuranga Alwis.
Right Ethics - Humans have fundamental rights. According to this its ok to transfer and accept money
from any person to the account of Mrs. Bindumathi Alwis unless those earnings are not connected with
any fraud or scam which is going on.
