2. ACCOMPLISHMENT INSTRUCTIONS
A. Remove the Spare accessory Drive Gear.
NOTE: During disassembly comply with appropriate removal, disassembly, cleaning,
inspection, removal of coating, plating, assembly and installation procedures (Ref
O/H).

(1) Separate the engine compressor, gearbox and turbine modules.
(2) Disassemble the gearbox (Ref. O/H, OMM).
(3) Delete Spare Accessory Drive Gear (Vacuum/Hydraulic Pump) from Power and Accessory
Gearbox (6894171, 6886442, 6898571, 6877180 or 6875492) (Ref. Fig. 1 and 2).
(4) Do not install the following parts comprising the spare accessory drive gear installation
during assembly at overhaul or in the field when access to the interior of power and
accessory gearbox has been achieved.

A. Effectivity
(1) Engines
(a) All Rolls-Royce M2509 --C20R that were modified to add the spare drive gear per
IB--4006.
(b) All Rolls-Royce M250--C20 and --C20B series engines and power and accessory
gearboxes prior to:
NOTE: The engine serial numbers above are based on current production records.
(2) Spares -- Not affected
B. Reason
The Spare Accessory Drive (Vacuum/Hydraulic Pump) is considered redundant if the drive is
not used on the Power and Accessory Gearboxes (6894171, 6886442, 6898571, 6877180 and
6875492).
C. Description
The Spare Accessory Drive Gearshaft Assembly (6854852), its associated idler gear and
bearings, shaft seal, bearing cage and retaining pin and other detail parts of the installation, can
be removed from the gearbox cover assembly at customer option.
D. Approval
Technical aspects are FAA approved.
E. Compliance
Compliance Code 7: To be complied with per customer option.
F. Interchangeability
Not affected, except where the users special application requires installation of the spare
accessory drive gear.
NOTE: Installation of parts to activate the spare accessory drive is defined in M250--C20
Series Installation Bulletin 1012.
G. Material Availability -- Not applicable
