Subject: Research Plan

In response to your request, weve compiled a comprehensive plan to discuss in advance the
necessary research topics needed to complete our next presentation tasks. In order to value every
members efforts, this detailed document will encourage to expand our research on how
Microsoft can change the way it is perceived by consumers. The information provided will
determine our teams procedure as we will plan for a successful development.

Below, we have Microsofts key stakeholders: customers, employees, competitors, and investors.
For each stakeholder, we have gathered questions to help with our research and to strengthen the
expansion of Microsoft. This plan will guide our team to collect the research needed and prepare
for our future presentations.

Attached is a work plan describing our teams task distributions leading up to our final
communication plan presentation. We have divided the project so that each member is assigned
an equal number of tasks and each will complete their piece of work on the same date as
everyone else.

Stakeholder 1: Customers
What do Microsofts customers think about us?
How much are customers willing to pay for Microsoft products?
What are the concerns of Microsofts customers?
What do Microsofts customers want/need?
How can Microsoft attract the consumer market to achieve long-term financial success?

Stakeholder 2: Employees
What do we know about Microsoft employees (diversity, # of employees in each
department, corporate culture)
What is the turnover rate and are there any significant factors which lead to turnover in
Microsoft?
How satisfied are Microsoft employees with their jobs(Employee satisfaction, CEO
approval rating, benefits, salaries)?
What can we predict for the future of employees? (average tenure length, retention rate)
Stakeholder 3: Competitors
Who are our main competitors and what are they doing at the current period? (e.g.
develop what kind of products?)
How does Microsoft aim to be different from competitors?
What company is dominating the computing device market in the U.S?
How will these competitors affect our company's development?

Stakeholder 4: Investors
What do investors think about Microsoft?
Based off of past financial information, what will investors recommend in the future?
Who are some notable/main/influential investors of Microsoft?
How can Microsofts investors increase business growth?
