Within my 100 pages reading, I have come across 8 areas of discipline in our Christian life.
1. Celebration of the Discipline of Spirituality
Spiritual discipline liberates our inner spirit from the slavery of our in-built sinful habits by receiving Gods righteousness as free gift. 2. Celebration of the Discipline of Meditation Discipline of meditation prepares us to enter into the living presence of God making us to realize that God is speaking with us in the continuous present. 3. Celebration of the Discipline of Prayer Discipline of Prayer makes us transformed in-side out bringing us into the deepest and highest work of the human spirit. 4. Celebration of the Discipline of Fasting Discipline of fasting brings Gods grace in our spiritual realm making us humble in the continuous present of spiritual journey. 5. Celebration of the Discipline of Study Discipline of Study provides us the true knowledge of the true God that sets us free from the bondage spiritual slavery. 6. Celebration of the Discipline simplicity Discipline of simplicity teaches how to be a good steward of all gracious provision from the hand of God preventing us to become materialistic Christian. 7. Celebration of the Discipline Solitude Discipline of solitude has to do with our inward solitude which gives us the freedom not to be away from the people but to hear from God. The fruit of solitude is the increased sensitivity and compassion for others. 8. Celebration of the Discipline of Submission The discipline of submission gives us the freedom to lay down the terrible burden of always needing to get our own way. Discipline of submission teaches to us relax, to drop the matter, to forget it. But, discipline of submission demands service or action.
