Select (S):

Today lesson is about How To Grow A Beanstalk story. I will play with you a game that I will give each
students a number and I will read the first sentence then I will choose a number and who have this
number should to complete the second sentence.

Describe (D):

I will read the story and the lesson was presented for grade 2 girls. The students took place on the carpet.
Students were learning to read the story and be attention to know when it will be their turn. Each student
were read sentence from the story.

Analyze (A):

Some students were enjoying about the lesson because the lesson was like a game and they
should to be attention. I was choosing by numbers the students who should to complete reading.
Next time I will explain what happen in an easy way to the students understand.

Appraise (A):

If they were some students that they are annoying and they dont let the other to understand the lesson
let them to sit in one table with the teacher and the teacher will teach them. Or if they finish the activity
and they dont have something to do I will let them help the other students in the same group. I put in my
mind that I will read the story and explain it and ask some questions about the story but when I start the
lesson I think that the students understand what we are doing so I didnt ask them question and I dont
explain the story.

In future I will do more activity for the students who finish the activity fast. Also, I will read the story and
I will stop in each sentence and explain it for them if they dont understand in English I will translate it in
Arabic, and I will ask them some questions while reading the story.

Overview of the lesson:


Mariam planned and implemented a literacy lesson about reading sentences. She demonstrated the
reading in a whole group time, using a textbook to show the students how to finish reading a
sentence. Many students participated and were eager to try their sentences. Mariam corrected when
she could and gave some praise and encouragement.
Areas for development:
1. SHOW the story and sentences in a clearer way. A number of students were lost and had to be
reminded and shown by others, slowing down the class. To show, place your reader on a stand so it
is fully visible to all students. Use a pointer when you read, rather than holding the book half towards
you.

2. Demonstrate or model the action before asking students to do it. Take time to model, to show
students how to do the activity. Modeling should include 2-3 examples of the correct way to do the
activity with one example of how not to do it.

3. Planning: Be careful to fulfill your learning outcome. There was no self-correction modeled or
demonstrated or required of the students.
