Name: Kaitlyn Kolarik Cooperating Teacher: Jessica Sprague Cooperating Teacher Initial Here______
Lesson Date: 10/17/17 School: Oak Forest Elem. Grade Level: 2 Setting:WWT
Subject/Topic: Math/1:1 Correspondence Teaching Model: Direct University Supervisor Initial Here________
Teaching Objective (ABCDE): MODIFICATIONS/ACCOMMODATIONS
After being given a number between 1-10, T will supply the same number with manipulatives getting 7/10
correct.
IEP Objective(s):
Given a number between 1-10 and manipulatives, T will supply the same number of objects.
TEKS:
Prerequisite skill:
5.3 Numbers and Operations. The student applies mathematical process standards to develop and use strategies and
methods for positive rational number computations in order to solve problems with efficiency and accuracy. The
student is expected to:

Background Information:
The student knows the numbers 1-10, but is working on 1:1 correspondence.
Materials:
Math manipulatives, expo marker
Equipment:
None
Classroom Management/Environment:
The student is sitting with the teacher at the WWT desk.
Engagement/Focus:
-Today we are going to be working on our number skills.
Student Objective (Today you will be able to___.):
-Today you will be able to show me with your teddy bear counters the number of teddy bears that I tell you to
show me.
Purpose of the Lesson (This information is important because___.):
-It is important for you to know how to count because you will need to count many things in life such as
money, the amount of Reeses you have, etc.
Explanation/Procedures (Relate to prior knowledge; describe what you will teach & model, what the students are to do with you, -visual and instructional
and what they are to do independently (I do, We do, You do); must include higher level questions you will answer): aides
-I do: Write a number between 1-20 on the desk with the expo marker. -short instructions
We do: -count together 1-10 -encouragement for
-Work out together 3 different problems so the student knows what is expected participation.
You do: Complete 10 problems
-Count out loud with the
student

Extension (what will you do to go deeper into this topic):

Give the student a certain number of counters, and have the student supply me with the number of counters given.
Elaboration (what else might you need to do/say to teach this skill/concept):
Folder activities and work jobs that work on 1:1 correspondence.
Closure (objective & purpose are restated; address how are you going to include the students in this):
-Today you showed me how to count out numbers with your teddy bear counters. This is so important for you so
later on you will be able to count out money!
Assessment (how will you know when the student knows the information or can do the skill youve taught): -Visual and Verbal Prompts
The student will be given a worksheet with 5 different numbers and will have to place teddy bear counters showing
that number on the worksheet.
