| would like to take this opportunity to write this recommendation in support of Tina Gower as an
ontstanding candidate for teaching positions in early childhood and special education. Thave known this
talented and motivated student since she entered into our undergraduate program in Pre-K to Grade 4/
‘Special Education program fall of 2014, As an undergraduate student, Tina took several early childhood
education courses with me. She is a professionally and personally mature young woman who is passionate
about teaching young children, working with familics, and collaborating with teaching colleagues. Tina
‘demonstrated this enthusiasm in my courses by actively participating in group projects and contributing to
lass discussions with creative and insightful comments. Based on Tina’s talents and strong academic
performance, Im confident she will make an exemplary teacher.
‘Tina has shown enthusiasm for learning and openness to new ideas in education, Tina had several
‘opportunities to observe young children ata varity of early childhood settings including teaching
preschoolers sensory and hands-on activities at our campus Child Development Center centered on the
child's interests. During Ar, Music, and Movement, Tina created a dramatic play center with creative and
engaging lesson activities connecting to social studies, technology, early literacy, and Stem. Young
children had the opportunity to use their imagination through pretend play to act out the role of a
veterinarian and lear how to care for animals. During student teaching at Rumbaugh Elementary School
{in Mount Pleasant, Tina had the opportunity to work with young children who required extra support in
reading, writing, and science fundamentals. Additionally, Tina is knowledgeable regarding typical and
atypical child growth and development. She understands the importance of implementing a
developmentally appropriate curriculum forall young children within an environment that will stimulate
positive learning outcomes and encourage participation and problem solving, ‘This was evident by the
brochure she created for an early childhood program for Child Care Administration,
‘Tina's philosophy is focused on the development of the whole child, providing each child with a safe
environment and valuing every child’s uniqueness and diversity. Tina's teaching dispositions include
‘warmth and respect forthe child, empathy, patience, and excellent communication and organization skills.
‘Tina states, “Having patience is a key component in the profession of teaching. Furthermore, when you put
‘your whole heart into the job, you should be gennine with each and every child you come in contact with
‘and show them that you care about them, Let the students know they come fist, and you are there to help
them be successful members of society.”
‘Asa future educator, I believe Tina will havea strong commitment to the teaching profession and will
continue to grow. Tina believes, “Tam in this profession forthe students and will tive to do whatever T
possibly can to mect the needs of the diversity that exists in our school systems today.” Tina Gower will be
a valuable asset to her future students, families, and community. I give her my highest recommendation.
