FUNDAMENTAL AGRICULTURE COURSES

Crop Sci 1- Principles of Crop Science

Principles and practices of crop production; Definition and importance of crops;


Identification and classification of crop plants, basic processes and factors in crop
production, basic concept in sustainable crop production, application of the principles and
practices in agronomic and horticultural crops.

Credit : 3 Units( 2 hrs lec., 3 hrs lab/week)


Prerequisite : Bio 101 & 101.1 - Introduction to Biological Science

Soils 1 - Principles of Soil Science

Nature, properties and management of soils; Basic concept in nutrition;


Conservation and management of soils; Survey and classification.

Credit : 3 Units ( 2 hrs lec., 3 hrs lab/week)


Prerequisite : Chem 12 & 12.1 - Fundamentals of Chemistry

ANSC 1 Introduction to Animal Science

Principles of animals breeding, physiology and nutrition in relation to production,


processing and marketing of animal products and by-products.

ABM 1 Introduction to Entrepreneurship, Management and Marketing

The course presents the fundamentals of entrepreneurship and its challenges. It


takes into account the whole scope entrepreneurial tasks such as planning and organizing
of new agricultural ventures; management of the functional areas of personnel; marketing;
production; and financing, with special focus on capital budgeting techniques, preparation
of financial statements and financial ratio analysis, break-even analysis and marketing
strategies for an effective marketing mix, including the preparation of a business plan.

Credit : 3 Units (3 hrs lecture/week)


Prerequisite : English 2 Writing in the Discipline
