Mechanism of Harm
Dr. Martin Pall identified a nonthermal mechanism of harm
caused by radio frequency exposures involving the voltage-
gated calcium channels in cell walls. In testimony before
the Joint Committee on Telecommunications, Utilities, and
Energy he testified that smart meters have been linked to life-
threatening heart rate alterations and arrhythmias, widespread
neuropsychiatric effects, and electromagnetic hypersensitivity.
Expert testimony in Arizona indicates that the switch-mode
power supply in electronic meters introduces damaging high
voltage transients (dirty electricity) onto the clean 60 Hz cycle.
