PENANG / SBP STUDENTS SHOULD ALLOWED TO BRING PHONES TO SCHOOL. WHAT DO YOU THINK ?

Since the motion students should not bring their mobile phones to school has been a controversy,
there isnt any definite agreement between students, teachers and the Principal. From my point of view,
mobile phones should not stay prohibited in school. Im going to explain the reasons behind this practical
argument.

First of all, parents may be worried about their childrens safety. Its normal for them to care about
their children, and this applies to almost all the families. In this case, students can contact their parents when
theyre going back home if they bring their phones to school. It is true that there are phones provided by the
school for students to contact parents. However, there are almost 1000 students in the school, yet there are
only 2 phones available for them. It is ridiculous. Indeed it forces students to queue up, wasting a lot of time.
When they bring their own phones, they can contact their parents whenever they like. How convenient it is!

As the technology is more advanced nowadays, mobile phone means a lot to teenagers. Whats more,
its a necessity for them. Basically most of them have an obsession with their necessity. They do not have
their phones for 8 hours because theyre having lessons at school. Its no harm for them to relax after the
tiring 8 hours. Phone is a part of our life. I dont see the point in not allowing students to bring their phones
to school just for relaxing right after the long, dreadful lessons.

Besides, it is essential for students to check information on the Internet. It is usual to surf the net by
phones. Sometimes students do homework before or after school. They can check the information using their
phones. When the bringing of mobile phones stays prohibited, they need to use the computers in the library.
Same as the case of public phones in school, therere nearly a thousand of students yet therere only three
computers available. I dont think they can surf the Internet as they want. It therefore cant replace the use of
their personal phones for checking information.

Some students said that the using of mobile phones is detrimental to health. I personally think its out
of the track. Im claiming that students only use their phones when theyre heading to school or leaving it. It
doesnt take a long time anyway. How can it be harmful to our body, especially our eyes? In addition, their
main concern is that mobile phones keep on distracting them when theyre having lessons. However, I didnt
say that students can keep their phones during lesson time. The phones can be kept by teachers. Once
phones are kept by teachers, there wont be any distraction and also stealing, crimes and cheating. The
school can implement more measures to keep students concentration once they are allowed to bring their
phones to school.

To sum up, there seems to be loads of disadvantages for students to bring phones to school just if
they have some superficial grasps of the motion. However, they can be eliminated by policies implemented
by the school. The plans can definitely beat the disadvantages down.

Whats left are the advantages of bringing phones to school ultimately. I dont see any point that
bringing mobile phones to school is high-sounding since it ensures students safety from the viewpoint of
parents, helps students look up the information in an effective way and serves as a proper form of relaxation
for students. As the above-mentioned arguments support my standpoint, I consider the bringing of mobile
phones should be permitted at school.

PENANG WHERE THERE IS A WILL, THERE IS A WAY

Where there is a will there is a way is a nice old saying which has proved its meaning by hundred percent. If we
have a desire to do something, things will come to our way but we need to be dedicated to that. There will be some
hindrance in the way but will power gives surety to win the goal. Will is the wish to do anything in life. Dreaming is good
but not working properly to fulfill the dream is not good. If you see dreams, work accordingly to complete them. The
meaning of this proverb applies to all the work areas of life. If you want that good things of life come to your way, you
need to work hard accordingly with complete dedication and patience.

You cannot get good result and success in the first attempt though you can succeed after a number of hard
trials. We all are well aware of the simple story of a thirsty crow who worked hard in filling the pitcher through small
stones to get the water level up so that he can drink the water and quench his thirst. He was in the search of water for
hours however when he got water, it was very low in the pitcher. He tried number of ways to quench his thirst with no
success. He thought a trick and started picking and collecting pebbles one by one in the pitcher. Finally, he got success
in bringing the water level up and quenching his thirst.

His will power to quench his thirst made him able to defeat all the difficulties and get success. His thirst was very
important which made him strong and win. All the trials and success of that crow teaches us that never become
hopeless even when you are surrounded by difficulties. Just be patient and continue the hard work, surely you will get
success.

PENANG IF YOU COULD MAKE ONE WISH, WHAT WOULD IT BE AND WHY ?

PERAK TENGAH - DESCRIBE YOUR PLANS FOR FUTURE

All of us have our own wishes. However it may differ from person to person. The wishes could be in
what one would like to become, what one would like to do, what one would like to have and so on

No matter what, each one of us does have a wish and we all strive hard to get there. With little bit of
effort and right kind of focusing, we all could make our wishes come true.Being a student, my wishes would
be as to what I would like to become or where I would like to be when I grow up. Though I have been asked
this question many times, I never thought of it seriously until recently.

I may sound funny for you now, but I deeply have my desires in achieving of what I see in myself. I
love to become a Chef!! A very well known one. I love cooking and I always watch my Mom making dishes. It
is such a pleasure to see her make dishes and bring in out great flavorful and mouthwatering dishes, even
with the little ingredients left in her kitchen. She has motivated me that, making great food and satisfying
hunger of many is the greatest joy that one could attain. When we make food with all the love and passion, it
just turns out great and serving them to our loved ones, is beyond ecstasy, is what my Mom always says.

I watch the numerous Cooking shows that are shown in the television and I have seen small kids make
food!! That has actually given me the confidence that I too can prepare food and make great dishes.
Sometime I ask my Mom to hand over the kitchen and she does stand with me to what I can make. I really
enjoy those times and I love making it.

I wish to become a wonderful Chef and run a restaurant on my own, where I could make dishes of my
choice and serve my guests with all love and care. Happy and content faces after having a meal is what would
make my day, as I truly enjoy seeing happy faces after a great meal that my mom makes.

PENANG BEST VACATION YOU HAVE EVER HAD IN YOUR LIFE

This year's vacation was the best vacation ever; I've been in the far east and I went to the most
beautiful island in the Mediterranean Sea - Greece, there are among the amazing beaches and beautiful view
that I found the meaning of ultimate freedom and relaxation.

My journey started during the month of July, I flew to Hong-Kong to visit my father. I traveled there
for a week, It wasn't my first trip to this fabulous country - I've been there few times before. We took a ferry
from Hong Kong to a Chinese city called Shenzhen near the border, I was lucky enough to have my father with
me to show me around.

Shenzhen is a small town not far from Hong-Kong and we spent the day wandering through markets, taking in
the sights, and generally just relaxing, and then we took a ferry back to HK, I remained in HK for a few days
and flew to Malaysia .

When I came to Malaysia I was overwhelmed of its beauty and cultural. I decided to go Cameron
Highland. There are many great places in Cameron Highland. For example the tea plantation, the strawberries
park, the rose garden and also the herbs garden. Furthermore, it has a picturesque view of surrounding,
which is filled with beautiful flowers and mountains. It is simple breathtaking.

It was the most amazing week of my life. The wonderful experience included beautiful beaches,
incredible parties and meeting interesting people.

To conclude, this vacation was the best Ive ever had; possibly due to the fact this was the last school
vacation of my life. I will always cherish every little moment of it.

MELAKA / SBP E-SHOPPING WILL ONE DAY TAKE OVER THE CONVENTIONAL METHOD OF SHOPPING

ADVANTAGES OF ONLINE SHOPPING

Online shopping is one of the greatest aspects of the internet today. By choosing to shop online you
will be able to enjoy many benefits, some of which are self explanatory, others that are not so apparent. With
this article, we will begin with the less apparent benefits of online shopping. Many people are unaware that
they have the ability to save even more money by shopping at an online retailer. You see, just as actual
department stores are always in competition with each other, so are online retailers. They all fight among
each other in order to offer consumers the best deal, in order to lure them to their products.

With online shopping, you, the consumer, benefit greatly from this never ending battle of the
retailers. Everyone is always in search for a great deal, online shopping can offer you just that. Another
excellent example of the money saving benefit is what is called "Online ONLY" deals. These are deals that are
typically offered by retailers that also possess offline sales structures. The benefit of this is that they will often
offer extensive discounts and savings only to those who purchase specific items online.

Other benefits that only online shopping can offer you include the ability to avoid the holiday rush,
the waiting in line, the weather elements, traffic, and having to carry all of the shopping bags around. Sounds
relaxing does it not? It should, often times shopping within a mall or department store can become such a
hassle that it is not as fun as it once was. Online shopping makes it fun again, depending on what you are
looking for you have many options in your selection. For example, say you are online shopping for a specific
CD (Compact Disc), often times retailers will allow you to listen to samples of the songs contained on that CD.
How does this help? You will have the opportunity to listen to portions of the song, this will help you
determine if you like the songs or do not. This surely beats buying a CD only to find out you did not like it
once you have gotten it home.

You should take advantage of online shopping for a variety of reasons such as, saving time - you do
not have to drive anywhere, you can often purchase an item(s) with just a simple click of a button. You can
stay within the comfort of your home and find that perfect gift no matter if it is rare or readily available.
Online shopping is perfect for those items that you want to remain a secret, such as a surprise gift or other
item you may not want to purchase in public. If you have not joined the ever growing population of online
shoppers, this is your opportunity. With online shopping, you save money, time, and effort all with the click
of a mouse.

MELAKA HOW CAN STUDENTS CARRY OUT RECYCLING IN SCHOOL

SPEECH ON RECYCLING WEEK

Good morning to the Principal, teachers and fellow students.

From Monday, until Friday, we will hold 'Recycling Week' for the first time in our school. As the Head
Prefect, I would like to tell you all about the aims and activities of this 'Recycling Week'.

Nowadays, we hear so much being said about our environment being destroyed by the irresponsible
actions of humans. Let us do our bit for the environment this week by changing our attitudes and actions. Instead
of littering, let us view waste from a different perspective. By recycling waste, we can not only prevent our towns
from being turned into dumping grounds, we can also ensure a systematic utilization of our natural resources.

Let me start by giving you the aims of 'Recycling Week'. By having this project, we hope that students will
develop an awareness of the importance of conserving and protecting our environment and our natural
resources. 'Recycling Week' is also aimed at educating students on the methods they can use to reduce waste.

It is our responsibility to take care of the environment. Let us not discard this responsibility due to
ignorance and indifference. Our teachers have planned many interesting and useful activities. First of all, you are
asked to collect used magazines, aluminium cans and bottles. The class which contributes the most materials will
win a unique trophy which is made entirely out of recycled materials. At the end of the week, all the materials
collected will be sorted out and sent to cash-a-can centers or recycling plants.

Officers from the Consumer's Association have agreed to give a talk entitled 'Safeguarding the
Environment'. The highlight of the week is a visit to a paper-recycling plant. If you need more information, you can
obtain it from the notice on the school's bulletin board. Those interested in the trip should give their names to
their class teachers.

I hope that 'Recycling Week' will enlighten you on the importance and benefits of recycling waste. I would
like to end by urging everyone to support 'Recycling Week' with your active participation.

Thank you

MELAKA DESCRIBE SOME ACTIVITIES YOU AND YOUR FAMILY INDULGE IN AS A PASTIME

Pastime is when all my homework and chores have been done for the day and I am "free" to do things
that I enjoy doing.

Usually I spend time watching television. As my favorite TV shows come on at specific times, I make
sure that I finish my homework and chores well before the shows. Otherwise I will have to miss them. Mostly
I manage to watch the shows but sometimes extra homework or chores may cause me to miss a show or two,
but it is rare. Anyhow if I know that I am definitely not able to catch a show in time, I will just set the video
recorder to tape the show so that I can watch it later.

Another thing that I do in my free time is potter around in the garden with my mother. She plants a
fair bit of flowers and I enjoy helping her take care of them. It is a pleasure to feel the soil, prune the plants,
remove the weeds and do the little things that help the plants grow better. It always fills me with wonder to
watch seedlings germinate, sprout leaves and eventually grow to produce beautiful flowers.

Pottering around in the garden also taught me many things about the insects, butterflies, snails,
caterpillars, centipedes, millipedes and other small creatures that inhabit the place. These creatures are
mainly harmless and watching them go about their 'chores' always fascinates me.

In the evening when the weather is fine, i sometimes go for a stroll around the neighborhood with my
father. This is the time when most the neighbors have come home from work or school. We say hello to
those whom we know. They are mostly friendly people and they acknowledge our greetings. Once in a while
we come upon unfriendly neighbors but we just ignore them and carry on.

In the night, I usually do a bit of reading with my brother before going to bed. Books are like little
treasure chests. A lot of information and knowledge are to be found in them and all it takes is a bit of time
spent reading them. This is certainly a very beneficial way to spend my free time. Some we share our story.
After a spot of reading, it is time for bed and on to another day.

PERAK TENGAH KNOWLEDGE VS EXPERIENCE. WHICH GUARANTEE A BETTER FUTURE ?

People always are learning and practicing through their whole lives. From reading words in text book
such as toy, car, train etc., people have the concept and ideas. They further understand the actual meaning
of these words by playing toys and riding or driving cars, trains etc.

Education (books) and experience are the main two channels for People to gain their knowledge. Each
play different roles for people. In my opinion, knowledge from experience is more important than that from
books.

Experience first can prove if the knowledge form books are true or false. Textbooks are very wonderful
in teaching people essential principles, how is the world looks like? what is the basic law of change of people
and things? We can learn a lot through primary school, secondary school until university. However, people
can only understand the really meaning of those form books and justify them if they are right through
practices. A few hundred years ago, people learnt from text book that the earth was flat. However scientists
found that was wrong through observations and measurement.

The knowledge from experience can improve and advance the world and our society. As books have
limitation, they only teach us the what people found in the past. The knowledge from the books are
constrained to the certain conditions and environment. For example, mould and tools design for plastics
industry, the university course only taught me very simple cases, most knowledge are obtained from various
different and complicated cases in my career.

There are a lot new inventions and new products which could not be found from textbooks. Our society
and world are developed through continuous practices, those knowledge, never found in books, such as
internet, e-business etc. are all developed through new practices.

"The truth comes from practices and experience", people are continually discovering new things and
assessing the creditability of the knowledge written in books. The knowledge from experience help us much
more than those from books. So, once again which one will guarantee a better future. From what I have
written, I believe that both are equally important. In your journey to achieve your dream, you need to have
the knowledge and gain some experiences. Then you will be expert in your field.

PERAK TENGAH HOW MODERN INVENTION HELPED MANKIND

If a man of 17th or 18th century were to pay a visit to the present world, he would simply feel
dumbfounded. Present age is the age of technology and it is progressing day by day by leaps and bounds. It
has proved to be a great blessing to mankind.

One of the greatest blessings of technology is the invention of rapid means of travel and transport.
Distance has been utterly annihilated. Journeys that previously took months together are now made in days
and even hours. Nor it is only the speed of travel that has been increased; the modern and advanced means
of travel are very comfortable and luxurious. This can be easily conceived by the existence of bullet trains,
different types of speedy aircrafts and road vehicles. These means of transport are not only instrumental in
taking people from one place to another but also in the transportation of goods.

The advances in medical technology are really remarkable. Immunity against such fatal diseases as
plague, typhoid, cholera and typhoid can be guaranteed by means of inoculations. Vaccination is proving an
effective safeguard against the scourge of many deadly diseases. In addition to this, painless surgical
operations for appendicitis hernia and a score of other diseases are performed and a new lease of life is
granted to the patients. In short science is instrumental in relieving the physical suffering of millions and
saving the life of humans. This quest of disease is one of the noblest achievements of technology. When we
contrast our life with that of our ancestors, we feel how science and technology has taken hold of the
minutest details of our everyday existence. As a result the world has grown more prosperous and the
standard of living has risen.

It would not be wrong to say that computer is the most useful invention of the 21st century. It is
because of computers and robotics that the world is making incredible developments in every walk of life.
The world has become a global village today and boundaries of countries have shrunken to reachable
distances.

In conclusion, I do believe that technology do develop mankind to be a better person. We are capable
to achieve many great things in daily basis. Somehow, some people could see that all these invention gives a
lot of effect to our life with lots of destruction to nature and ourselves. Well, its all depend on us either we
make sure of it in worthy way or we do in the ruthless way. It is our choice.

PERAK TENGAH HABITS OF YOUNG MALAYSIAN TODAY

Nowadays, teenagers in Malaysia have changed in comparison with the teens in the past, taking into account eating habits, an
active way of life, spending free time and clothes. They are a technology generation. For teens in todays world mobile phones,
internet, music, movies, television and video games are very important. Most teenagers prefer watching TV and playing computer games
to reading books. They dont like reading because watching TV is easier and they dont have to use their own imagination. Computer
games teach but they are also harmful to health..

Every teenager needs a balanced diet, appropriate personal hygiene and physical activities in the fresh air, for example, playing
a ball, going running, swimming, driving on the bicycle, playing in tennis or walking. This should be for them more interesting than
sitting for hours in front of a computer or TV because such a mode of life leads to the improvement of mood, health and physical shape..
Young people choose less healthy kinds of entertainment than sport, putting away bicycles in the corner. They eat too much fast,
unhealthy food, which is very fatty and drink too many sugary drinks. This leads to obesity. However, nowadays young people, especially
girls, allow themselves to grow fat, or torture themselves with diets, which leads to various diseases with physical basis like anorexia
and bulimiaYoung people have to remember, that a healthy lifestyle requires appropriate nourishment, but they also must not forget
about personal hygiene.

Physical activity has a large influence on young people lifestyle. Physical activity improves health condition in various ways. It
helps the organism to utilize the calories better, which helps to maintain a desirable weight. Physical activity reduces the appetite and
helps in the reduction of the fatty mass of the body. The beneficial influence of physical activity on health mood does not raise any
doubts any more. The research reveals that regular training among the youth is an important factor improving the health. However, too
little popularity of psychical activities among the young people is a huge problem. It is a frequent and more and more general problem
and causes various diseases such as: heart failure, lungs deficiency, spine problems etc.

Another aspect worth mentioning is communication via the Internet, especially instant messaging, has become an essential feature
of teens social lives. Teenagers say, that this can be very helpful to communicate, learn and can be fun. Through the Internet they can
download music and other files and play on-line games, for example, with their real or virtual friends. What is more, cellulars are very
popular among teenagers and can be used to do a lot of things: we can communicate with friends using them, have a nice time playing
games, listen to music and also watch films. For a lot of young people mobile phones are indispensable and they simply cannot imagine
life without them.

All in all, it can be stated that the lifestyle of teenagers depends on many factors. It is connected with the constant development
which is taking place and as a result is different from the lifestyle of young people in the past. Every young man should lead a healthy
lifestyle independently of age or interests. This should be one of the things that you do every single day. Young people should be aware
of positive influence of healthy lifestyle on health and mood. This in effect would give them better results in studying and what is more
important they would be pleased with good health much longer.

SBP DESCRIBE A SCENE AFTER A TRAFIC ACCIDENT AND YOUR FEELING ABOUT IT

It looked as if a storm was approaching. I was standing at a cross-road traffic junction, waiting
to cross the road. I have always observed that particular cross-road to be extremely busy, with vehicles
constantly on the move. I was headed towards the bus stop across the street, so I turned in the opposite
direction of the cross-road to see if my bus was coming.

As I turned back to have a look at the cross-road, I saw a flashy yellow sports car trying to beat
the red light. Before I knew it, I heard a thunderous heart-stopping crash. The sports car had slammed
head on into a green van right in the middle of the large intersection. Shattered windscreen glass was
strewn all over the junction and the passers-by crowded round the scene. I saw one girl rushing to the
telephone to report the accident.

For a minute or two, nothing happened. Then, a man got out of the green van. His van was
completely smashed in on the side of the collision. He lookedshaken and furious. He walked over to
the yellow car only to find that the driver was unconscious. Some helpful people went to the middle of
the road to help the unconscious man out of his car.

The police and the ambulance arrived at about the same time. They noted down the positions of
the vehicles and began asking for witnesses to the accident. I volunteered to give some details since I
had seen the whole thing. I did not have time to think about missing my bus

SBP A PLEASANT SURPRISE

PAHANG - DESCRIBE A TIME WHEN SOMETHING TOTALLY UNEXPECTED HAPPENED

A Wonderful Surprise

It was almost Chinese New Year and I was feeling a little down and out. My best friend, Hui Yi, had just
migrated to Hong Kong and I was sad that we would not be able to spend time together like we did in the past. She
would always spend Chinese New Year over at my house and we would have so much fun too. But now, despite
Chinese New Year being a busy cleaning and cake baking season, I was bored at home, with little else to do.

I received a postcard from her just days after she left, with the pleasant news that she would return this
Chinese New Year to visit me. I was so thrilled. I could not stop running around the house with glee for a full half
hour. Then, a telephone call came for me two days later. It was Hui Yi calling from her new home in Hong Kong.
She told me that she would be too busy settling down at her new home to return this Chinese New Year. My heart
sank. While I was glad to hear her familiar voice over the telephone, I was saddened by the news. I hung up trying
not to let my disappointment show too much.

On Chinese New Year, my relatives and friends gathered at my place for a small dinner. I heard a taxi drive
up to the front door and someone alighting from it. I looked out of my window and to my great surprise, it was Hui
Yi! We greeted each other with a bear hug, ran inside the house and told each other stories about what happened
since we last saw each other.

PAHANG HOW SHOULD PARENTS DISCIPLINE THEIR CHILDREN ?

How to Discipline Your Child Without Punishing Them

Discipline is one of the defining elements of parenting.Through discipline, kids are taught to become
responsible, honest, kind and sharing people. By following their parents guidance, teachings and rules, they
have the chance to grow up to be well-behaved and respectful individuals. Discipline and punishment are not
the same thing. If you punish your child instead of disciplining him, you probably wont get the desired result.

Parents who spank or swat their kids often believe it wont hurt them. After all, they were spanked by
their parents. But a recent study shows that after such parents are exposed to the many study findings
showing corporal punishments negative effects on children, a significant number change their opinion. Here
are three reasons why discipline is better than punishment.

Punishment is about overreacting. The urge to punish comes from within when you feel hurt by your
child's behavioryou're looking to strike back and inflict this same pain, often overreacting to the situation.
In the heat of the moment, Mom or Dad might lash out in anger or impulsivity, even raising a hand to a child,
instead of taking a deep breath and assessing the situation objectively.

Punishing doesn't teach lessons. Once youre caught up in the punishment mindset, it's hard to think
rationally or be compassionate in considering how to discipline your child. And it doesn't help your child learn
right from wrong. What specific "lesson" does a yanked and twisted arm teach? But treating a child with
respect, talking to him and getting him to thoughtfully discuss the situation turns his inappropriate behavior
into a learning opportunity.

Punishment creates a fear-based relationship. Consider the type of relationship a parent develops
with a child and the example set in regards to problem solving. A parent that frequently punishes a child
establishes a relationship built on fear. If a parent is aggressive and unpredictable, the child will become
fearful and worry about what his parent will to do every time he makes a mistake. Moreover, this fear and
anxiety stays with the child later in life. He may be waiting to be hurt and for something bad to happen.

Hence, learn how to discipline your child by correcting unwanted behavior, and teach positive
behaviors using discipline strategies rather than a punishment. Its a loving, respectful and effective way to
help them.

We all know this popular adage, but what does it really mean? Well, as humans, we all make mistakes
whether or not we want to admit to them is another thing entirely! However, when it comes to forgiveness,
many of us would rather hold on to our hurts, our resentments and our anger than forgive the one who has
done us wrong. It usually takes a bigger person to forgive, someone who realizes that holding on to all
those negative emotions only hurts them in the long run instead of the person who committed the
wrongdoing!

Usually, we tend to think of forgiveness as benefiting only the one who is guilty of the wrongdoing.
Viewed in this way, forgiveness is a divine act on the part of the one who forgives; the one who is forgiven
is relieved of any guilt and can go on with their lives, free from remorse. But what about the forgiver? Does
he/she benefit at all?

Forgiveness frees you it frees you to live without the weight of that anger and resentment.
Forgiveness of others, and ourselves, for the wrongdoings we have caused ourselves or suffered because of
anothers actions, has tremendous physical and psychological effects. Forgiveness of ourselves and others
leads to increased feelings of self worth and decreased psychological stress. This allows you to live a more
satisfied and fulfilling life because you have moved beyond the negative feelings that keep you stuck in the
muck and the mire and control your thinking and behavior.

Forgiveness is really a gift that you give to yourself. It has very little to do with the person who has
hurt you. In fact, holding on to that hurt is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die! Doesnt
make any sense, does it? Letting go of the hurt helps to build your self esteem because it demonstrates your
willingness to move out of the victim role and take your own personal power back.

Remember forgiveness doesnt mean you have to accept the behavior of another nor does it mean
you have to forget. It means granting yourself the permission to be happy and to move on because that is
what is best for you

TERENGGANU A VISIT TO NIGHT MARKET

Every Thursday from 6.00 p.m to about 10.00 p.m, a night market is set up on the road in front of a
row of shop houses near where I live. There are many vendors plying their wares at the night market, and it
has become a regular thing for me to visit the night market.

One Thursday evening at about 7.00 p.m, my sister and I paid a visit to the night market. It was not
completely dark yet but the vendors had already lit their portable fluorescent lamps. From a distance the
lamps seemed to add brilliance to the living sea of human bodies that had congregated at the market.

We stepped into the market carefully as there were many people there. In fact, we had to be careful
not to knock into the other shoppers. Our first stop was the food stalls. There were vendors selling cakes,
biscuits, buns, dumplings, dim sum, noodles and many other local tidbits and delicacies. we bought some
buns and dumplings for my parents and other siblings at home.

We then walked over to the fruit stall to buy some fruits. Next to the fruit stall, a medicine seller had
set up shop and was talking himself hoarse extolling the efficacy of his medicine to half-interested shoppers.
Poor man, if he went on like that, he might need the medicine himself, whatever it was good for.

Next, we stopped and bought some vegetables at our regular vegetable stall. That was the last thing
we needed to buy. As it was still only 7.30 p.m. we decided to walk around a bit and look at the things on
sale.

There were people selling toys, pirated video CDs, clothes, belts, books, posters, mobile phone
casings, balloons, crockery and all sorts of goods. Business seemed to be good for most of the vendors. There
was no shortage of buyers. Everyone seemed to have something to sell or to buy. The sight, sound and smell
of the market were really quite intense. So after spending another ten minutes or so in the market, I yearned
for the peace and quiet of home. So I motioned to my sister to go home.

Together we walked carefully out of the night market and headed home.

TERENGGANU HAVING A FACEBOOK ACCOUNT IS BENEFICIAL FOR SCHOOL STUDENTS. WHAT DO YOU
THINK.

Everything in the world has good and bad aspects, and that can definitely be said as true for the
phenomenon that is Facebook. is Facebook a valuable communication platform beneficial to all its users, or
merely a time waster that has caused more headaches than happiness? For me, an average, sociable seventeen
year old, I could say that it is beneficial and dangerous at the same time.

Certainly, there are many advantages to Facebook. The easiness of communication is the obvious one.
Who could have possibly imagined that someone would create a space where we could communicate, share
photos and keep up-to-date with our friends from all over the globe as long as we had access to an internet
connection?

It has become a platform upon which teenagers can express their feelings and voice their opinions,
knowing that they will actually be heard, if not by adults, certainly by their peers. Whether they want to share
their feelings with the world, or merely their closest friends, Facebook makes either possible. For some, it is their
first opportunity to truly feel as though they belong to a group. Their first chance to feel as though someone is
actually listening, that others care about them, their opinions and feelings. This concept, for me personally, is
difficult to fully grasp. I get it, I understand it, I know that some people just need to feel loved and cared about,
but Id prefer face-to-face contact any day, which leads me to the negatives.

For years, I have had the dangers of cyberspace drilled into me from parents, from teachers, from
various adults. On Facebook it is very easy for cyber bullies to thrive. They can harass and/or gang up on one
person even easier than they could in a school environment. There aren't moderators that go around
monitoring what people say to each other. Anything can be said. There are also a relatively small amount of
parents that have Facebook accounts and keep up with their children's. More than once I've witnessed this
form of bullying, whether it be about race, appearance, intelligence, etc.

I dont see social networking, in particular Facebook, as an entirely bad thing or a completely good
thing, but simply a combination of the two. As with everything in life, there are elements of both associated
with it, and just like junk food and most good things, moderation is the key

TERENGGANU BUILDING A NATION IS IMPORTANT TO ONES COUNTRY. HOW CAN TEENAGERS
CONTRIBUTE TOWARDS THIS ?

In what ways can people of your age do to improve life in your country ?

Many teenagers see their civic roles as only starting when they enter the working world. This is
because they see themselves as being powerless to change anything before that and therefore, postpone any
responsibility towards the country. But little do they realize that there are roles that they can assume, no
matter how small, to help improve life in the country.

One such role is that of pressure groups to raise awareness of important social issues in the country.
The voice of the young can make itself heard in areas like conservation of the environment, protection of
wildlife, as well as the arbitrary raising of school fees without consultation with the relevant groups. These
are issues that directly impinge on our lives and thus should be taken note of by us. Furthermore, we can also
put pressure on irresponsible advertisers who discriminate against certain groups in the society or even use
sexually explicit messages or visuals in their promotions. By showing that we care about our society, we can
make a start in ensuring that sound moral values and correct practices prevail.

We can also help the community by taking an active role in raising funds and even volunteering as
workers for the less fortunate. Old folks' homes and other welfare groups are always in need of volunteers to
help them. Thus, by offering our services on a weekly or monthly basis, we are building a caring society that
will augur well for the future. Simple tasks like cleaning the homes, entertaining or listening to the old folks,
or doing voice recordings for the visually-impaired are all within our means and infinitely more meaningful
than shopping or hanging out at 'shopping centers.

In the end, the best thing that people my age can do for the country is always to avail themselves of
the opportunities that are presented to them so that they are able to arm themselves well with the
knowledge and skills to contribute to the society in future. There are many things that we cannot do now, like
influencing public policies, but we can prepare ourselves to be ready when the day comes for us to play our
part. A great deal of investment in both effort and money has gone into nurturing us as young leaders of
tomorrow, and we must not ignore our roles. In the end, embracing our responsibilities to our society is a big
step in helping to improve life in our country.

TERENGGANU WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF HAVING MANY FRIENDS

Forming strong friendships is one of the most important aspects of life as a student. Friends are like
the substitute of our family , especially when we are distant to our family. Look for allies is even harder rather
than look for foes. A lot of people tried their best to look for these friends whether it takes some payment in
form of material and spiritual. So why do people compete in looking for friends? There are some reasons why
people strive to having a lot of friends.

First, by having good friends, we will be easy to look for assistance. Problem comes without invitation,
so nobody could avoid it. In such circumstance, friends could be the best allies for you to solve the problem
and assists you. With a strong solidarity and spirit, friends will help each other and bring a way out from the
problems to whoever needs it. They are cohesive and cooperative in order to help each other inside their
community.

Second, by having good friends, we have a place to rely all of our problems. We could share each
other what problems afflict us, what events make us happy or sad, what is our secret which is really
bothering us, e.t.c. So, in this situation, friends take role as our vessel to distract all of emotional problem and
relieve our brain's stress. This also could reduce numbers of desperate people committing in suicidal.

Third, good friends will not lead us into a damaged situation. Although in some case, friends could
make some jokes or fools which are embarrassing us, but in other side of their mischievous behavior, they are
care to each other. They will give us advises to lead us into a better condition and encourage us if we are in a
wrong way. That's why we should choose a well-personality people to be our friends.

MRSM WAYS TO ENCOURAGE STUDENTS TO LOVE READING

Reading has at all times and in all ages been a source of knowledge, of happiness, of pleasure and
even moral courage. In today's world with so much more to know and to learn and also the need for a
conscious effort to conquer the divisive forces, the importance of reading has increased. We all know the
rewards of reading are immense; aside from enhancing our communication skills, it also helps reduce stress.
Nevertheless, many children still cringe at the thought of reading. How can we change that?

Firstly, allow students to read the whole book before discussing it. Give students the opportunity to
read the book before you pull it apart and talk about literary devices. Sometimes when all you do is talk
about the plot, setting, or genre, you are taking all the fun and pleasure out of the story. Give students the
chance to read it once through, then you can go chapter by chapter and dissect.

Secondly, teach students reading strategies. Many students dont like to read because its hard for
them. Teach children reading strategies (i.e. repeated reading) to help them feel confident and read fluently.
School also can set up a book club. Book clubs and reading groups are a great way for students to socialize
and share their thoughts. This interaction makes reading so much more enjoyable, and it enhances their
comprehension skills

Teacher must use technology to create an e-book. Children love technology, and there is nothing is
better than using these tools to get students to love reading. Download an app like Book Creator or ebook
Magic and have students create their own works. Kids will love sharing their books with their peers and they
can even submit their stories to iBooks.

Last but not least, teacher need to helps students see the importance of reading. Sometimes just
knowing the facts can encourage someone to see their world differently. For example, knowing that
maintaining a healthy lifestyle may help us live a longer life can motivate us to make better life choices.
Laying out the benefits of reading may be the best way to enhance appreciation and e ncourage them to pick up
a book on their own.

KEDAH HOW ONE CAN STUDY SMART

Why is it that some students study really hard, but arent the best in their age group or get only
average grades? And why is it that there are other students who do not even invest half the amount of time
and effort into their studies, but get good or even outstanding results? Heres how you can study smart
instead of wasting countless hours of your valuable time. Here are some tips that I believe will work
effectively

Firstly, you must plan your study times thoroughly.Time is an essence so you must be wise in planning
your timetable daily and weekly.Slot in on your weaker subjects, example allotting two hours English
Language on Sunday and Thursday. The other critical subjects Sejarah and BahasaMelayu you can do on any
other days.Similarly for weekend, you can plan for other subjects.I wish to point out on the importance of not
to procrastinate. When you have plan your study times thoroughly, you must not procrastinate to any other
time or any others day.

Next, when the teacher is teaching ,you must be attentive and focus. If you lose your focus then its
hard for you to score high mark for that subject as you are not able to follow the lesson properly. Moreover,
you will lose your spirit and as time goes on you will be left behind. Definitely, you will lost interests in that
subject. The next class when the teacher comes in with a new topic then it will be worst for you as the new
topic may relates with the previous one. Besides, you are advised to ask questions on certain topic that you
are not capable to understand it.This way may improve your skills. You may also ask your teacher for your
personal reference after the school hours and for sure your teacher will give the best explanation for you. IN
addition, you should go for tuition for weaker subjects such as Physics, Biology, and Chemistry.

It is imperative for you to go through past year questions to get familiar with the format of the actual
SM questions. Doing regular practices also help you to review all the things that you have learnt. As a saying
goes, practice makes perfect. Through this way, you can memorize all the important notes by jotting down all
the earth-shattering points.

In a nutshell, you can save a lot of energy and time when you are able to study smart. It is not about
how many hours you study, but how effective you study in those hours. Remember each of us get 24 hours
daily, not lee not more. So if you are able to use it wisely then you can be success.

KEDAH - THE BEST WAYS FOR TEENAGERS TO RELEASE STRESS

Everyone wants something from teenagers. They try but its seems as its never good enough. Teenagers
have to wake up for school at six in the morning, after a night staying up late doing homework. School days are
stressful to begin with. Not just in school, their stress continues at home. Some teenagers release their stress in
such a bad way. They need to know how to release it positively. Here are some suggestions which can help you
reduce your stress. Travelling, gardening, and baking are good ways to reduce stress.

Travelling is an effective way to reduce any kind of stress. Planning the trip gives people an exciting mood
that inspires them to be active. By escaping from pressure, their mind will be refreshed and positive. Therefore, by
travelling, people will gain great energy to control their stressful lives.

Gardening is another favourable way of treating stress, because it protects people from mental and
physical problems. As people know, flowers and their scents have wonderful effects that give people a peaceful
and cheerful feeling. Likewise, gardening in the sunshine strengthens their bodies to resist the stresses. For these
reasons, gardening is a valuable way to avoid stress.

If people have stress outside, baking at home is a great protection. Kneading bread dough is especially
effective in controlling their temper. By touching dough, the smoothness and softness of the dough can heal their
depression or stress. Because the baking is homemade, their worries will be reduced and thus is worthwhile for
stressed people.

Spending time for holidays, garden work, home baking is a reliable way to help people to value their
existence. In this generation, people have excessive information that makes them confused and mislead. For
reducing a stressful life, people should with the simple ways that are all around them.

Being a teenager is, perhaps, one of the most interesting, intense, and complicated periods in the life
of almost any person. In teen years, their experiences are especially acute and exiting; this age is connected
with ones search of place in the world, of self-identification, and belonging. So, if teenagers are not able
adapt themselves in this challenging world, they will be left behind. Yes, it is stressful, but only they
themselves can overcome it. It is their choice.

JOHOR NO PAIN NO GAIN

Ah Mee often wished that she could have some fun like other girls. Some of her friends, she knew, were always
going to see the latest films, eating meals in most expensive restaurants and always wearing smart clothes. Ah Lan, for
example, had at least three party dresses and many cheongsams. "My life is all work," Ah Mee said to herself one day.

It was indeed all work, because Ah Mee's mother was dead and so, as well as working hard all day in a
departmental store in the large town in which she lived, Ah Mee had to look after her father. She cooked all his meals
and kept the house spotlessly clean. But she did not want to spend all her life doing this and so at night, when
everything else was done, she was teaching herself to type and to do shorthand. She went to classes for this in the
evenings sometimes and on her day off as well. One day, I will get a really good job as a secretary to an important man,
she used to think. Then I will have much more money and I will be able to send some home to my father, so that he can
pay someone else to do his housework for him.

So the weeks and the months passed, each one of them seeing Ah Mee working harder than before. Work at
the departmental store was tiring. She was very often on her feet all day from morning until night and sometimes, the
customers were difficult, unpleasant and hard to please. Ah Mee worked at the meat counter and sometimes, the
buyers were never satisfied. One piece of meat would be too fat, another too lean and people grumbled so much, if
they could not have exactly the right join of pork. Ah Mee did not like this job at all and if she had to work in a store,
she would have preferred a chemist's or a smart ladies' gown shop. However, like many working girls, she needed the
money and so she had to persevere.

Work at home, too, was hard. Although, she had only herself and her father to look after, the house, still got
dirty and needed to be cleaned. The rich spiced pork dish that her father liked so much, took just as much trouble for
two, as they would have done for four or for six people.

"It will all pass, if I work hard enough", she thought as she walked with her shorthand book to the Commercial
School, where she learnt shorthand and typing. The room was busy as she entered it. Other girls and boys were already
seated behind the typewriters which were all new, since the school had only just opened. The pupils were putting long
pieces of white papers into the machines and setting the spaces and margins. Soon the tap, tap, tap, of the keys could
be heard as the class began its evening's work. Ah Mee became absorbed in hers. She was very tired, but she tried her
best to concentrate, looking all the time a the copy lying beside her typewriter.

"You have a good touch", said a voice. "I have great hopes for you in theDiploma examination next week". She
looked up to find the Principal of the School standing by her desk. This was indeed as honor. "Your shorthand speeds
are good too", went on the Principal. "Try hard in your examination and then I will help you to find a job. Remember to
practice your shorthand at home. If you have no one to dictate to you, the voices on the radio can be used instead." He
walked to the next desk leaving Ah Mee to her work and wondering just what time she could find to fit in any more
practice.

The Principal was right of course, as they usually are and Ah Mee obtained her Diploma with very good marks.
Now, she is the private Secretary to the Principal himself and has a pleasant job with a good salary. She helps her father
to pay for a woman to look after them, and although she is still very industrious, she now has time for pleasure and
recreation. She worked hard to achieve the congenial life she leads now, because at an early age, she was wise enough
to realize that without pain there can never be any gain.

JOHOR EXAMINATION SHOULD BE BANNED. DO YOU AGREE

From primary school to the end of their tertiary education, students face the daunting task of
preparing for examinations every single year. So much time and emotion is poured into preparing for
examinations.

Advocates of the system contend that annual examinations are a good way of training children
for the stress of life after school - where deadlines and sales quotas need to be met, and work
completed methodically and with minimum fuss.Government examinations are also said to be the
necessary yardstick for measuring the capability of each person for further education or employment.

Yet, are examinations an accurate yardstick? A person's true abilities may not be shown by
written examinations. Take Winston Churchill, for example. He was a school dropout and yet he
became one of England's greatest statesmen, a national savior in World War II. Clearly, some talents
and forms of ingenuity go undetected in examinations.

Another problem related to our system of examinations is that teachers become too "exam-
orientated". They race through the syllabus so that they can cover everything in it in time for the
examinations regardless of whether their students have understood the material. The weaker students
often end up the victims in this race -- they are left far behind the rest of the class. They become more
and more discouraged as they understand less and less of the lessons, to the point that they hardly care
if they pass or fail. Sadly, this attitude will be carried with them into adult life.

What about the "swots"? Well, speaking as one, I confess that I often wonder whether it is
worth it. We rush from one tuition class to another and we spend most of our time studying for tests
and examinations, or doing our homework. All through the school semester, we only have one thought
in mind: to excel in the examinations. Is this really living?

A related point is that some students are so occupied with their studies that they do not develop
their potential in other fields. It is true that there are many clubs and societies in the school. However,
many students just do not have the time to make full use of these extracurricular activities. They have
to study, study, study. So, our emphasis on examinations is indirectly producing people who are only
trained to study and reproduce facts rather than well-rounded individuals.

In conclusion, while I realize that it will be impossible to do away with all examinations, I feel
that they should be given less importance within the school system. For example, instead of basing
entry qualifications on one examination, students should also be evaluated through the cumulative
marks of tests and assignments. Furthermore educationists, employers, parents and the students
themselves should always be reminded that the results of examinations are not equal to the sum of the
net worth of the individual.

JOHOR DESCRIBE A BUSY EVENT IN SCHOOL AND HOW YOU FELT ABOUT IT

One day every year, we celebrate Teachers' Day in honour of the teachers who spend so much
time teaching us so many things.Thisyear, Teachers' Day began with a school assembly in the hall
where the headmaster delivered a speech. After that we adjourned to our classes, not to have lessons,
but to enjoy ourselves.

My classmates gave a small party for the teachers who taught us. Each of us contributed a small
sum of money to buy cakes, drinks and other titbits. On that day we arranged the chairs and desks so
that they surrounded an empty space in the middle of the classroom.

So began a round of eating, drinking and playing games with the teachers. Most of the teachers
were very sporting and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. It was so different from having lessons.

The other classes gave parties too. So the teachers had to move from class to class and
participate in the fun. I would think that this was quite tiring on the part of the teachers but they
managed it. After all it was their day to enjoy and have fun.

One class even gave a short play for their teachers. I did not get to watch it as I was busy tidying
up the classroom after the party.

All in all it was a great day. The whole school was immersed in an atmosphere of gaiety. So
when the school bell rang for dismissal I felt a little sad that it should end, but end it must. The day
was over. It was a busy and hectic day but we went home happily.

PERLIS ABSENCE MAKES THE HEART GROW FONDER

PERSONS, places, or things become dearer to us when they are not with us or within our reach. Something
like this also happened with the two siblings, Rania and Ramiz. Rania was two years older than Ramiz. Both of
them couldnt tolerate each other and kept on fighting without any reason. Their parents tried their best to
create an amicable relationship between them, but it seemed nothing had an effect on them.

One day, when the siblings had a fight, their parents had to take a serious step. It was night time when their
parents had gone to sleep. One after the other, the children crept into the kitchen and both started fighting
for the jar of cookies.
These cookies are mine. Dont you dare touch them, Rania said in a sharp tone.
Give it to me! Mum brought all these cookies for me! Ramiz shouted. They both started to snatch the jar
from each other so it slipped and fell on the kitchen floor. The jar broke into several pieces that spread all
over the floor, as a result, Ramiz accidently wounded his foot by stepping on one of the broken pieces of
glass. He started to cry loudly.

Their parents woke up with the cries of Ramiz and rushed to the kitchen. When they saw the kitchen floor all
messed-up and the injured Ramiz, they got very angry.
See what you both have done! their mum scolded. But both the siblings still didnt stop accusing each
other.
It was all Ramizs fault, Rania said.
No, I also wanted to eat these cookies, Ramiz explained wiping tears from his eyes.
Thats enough. We dont want to listen to both of you now. Rania go to your room and Ramiz come with me.
See what you have done to your foot, father said in anger.

The parents thought for a solution to end all this nonsense forever. So the next morning, at the breakfast
table, their parents revealed the solution they were sending Ramiz to a boarding school to study. Ramiz
didnt want to go but his parents were firm. The news made Rania very happy. Thus, Ramiz was gone and
Rania was very excited and happy that now she was the only child in the house. The first two days for her
were very peaceful and enjoyable but, as time passed, she started to miss her younger brother. She felt very
lonely and depressed. She had no one to laugh or fight with.

After about a week, at the breakfast table, she requested her parents, Mum, dad please bring Ramiz back
home. The parents were astonished to hear Ranias words but didnt show it. Dad casually questioned, So
you want him back to fight again and make this house a battlefield?

No, I am not going to fight with Ramiz again, I promise dad, I have realised my mistakes as well. In fact, I am
going to take care of him and I promise to fulfil all my responsibilities as an elder sister. Please call him back, I
am missing him very much! Rania pleaded and started to cry. Ok, well think and see what we can do about
it, said her father. Rania was lost in thoughts all day, wondering if her parents would bring Ramiz back home
or not. She missed Ramiz even more.

The next day, when Rania woke up from sleep, she found her brother sitting on a nearby chair and smiling.
She couldnt believe her eyes! They gave each other a big hug and apologised for their mistakes. Ramiz had
actually not gone to a boarding school, he was at his aunts house and he went to school from there. As Rania
was in a different branch of the school, she never got to know about it. This was done to teach the siblings a
lesson, which they never forgot

PERLIS HOW SOCIAL MEDIA HARMS OUR SOCIETY

Mass media, such as the Internet, social networking, have been integrated into peoples lives. In fact,
researches have shown that the number of adults and teenagers relying on mass media to gather information
or communicate with one another has increased exponentially in the last few years. There have been many
debates on whether mass media have a positive or negative effect on our lives.

The effect that mass media has had on socialization is one of the most controversial and debated
effects of mass media. Social networks are one example of mass media communication which has had a great
impact on our society; Facebook alone has reached more than 500 million users, 65% of whom are teenagers.
The reason for this is that there virtual platforms offer the so called third space (outside of the home and
school), which psychologists claim to be indispensible to teenagers in order to socialize and build up their
personality. The opportunity social networks offer is in fact a welcoming, more accessible third space,
thanks to which embarrassment and social differences are eliminated as obstacles to socialization.

On the other hand, mass media virtual communication is debated to represent a very unhealthy way
of socializing, and the impact it is having on our lives cannot be for the better. It has been reported that 3.22
hours per day are spent in average online by each social networks user; each one of these hours is an hour
spent alone, sitting behind a screen. Moreover, getting to know a person virtually is very difficult: factors
such as privacy, or even just the fact of not being physically exposed to the other person, induce people to
create a new online personality which often does not reflect them as a person. The result of this is the
creation of distance between the person and the world, an isolation in a virtual, imaginary character.

In my opinion, in an advanced and technologic world like ours, it would not be wise to not take
advantage of the opportunities mass media offer. The truth is that to maximize the positive changes of this
new technology we need to have, a balance between the virtual ad the real world. It is our choice.

PERLIS THE IMPORTANCE OF READING

Reading has at all times and in all ages been a source of knowledge, of happiness, of pleasure and
even moral courage. In today's world with so much more to know and to learn and also the need for a
conscious effort to conquer the divisive forces, the importance of reading has increased. In the olden days if
reading was not cultivated or encouraged, there was a substitute for it in the religious sermon and in the oral
tradition. The practice of telling stories at bed time compensated to some extent for the lack of reading. In
the nineteenth century Victorian households used to get together for an hour or so in the evenings and listen
to books being read aloud. But today we not only read, we also want to read more and more and catch up
with the events taking place around us. The various courses and classes being conducted in rapid reading
support this belief.

A person who is widely read is able to mix with others: he is a better conversationalist than those who
do not read. He can stand his ground. Reading broadens the vision. it is in a way a substitute for travel. It is
not possible to travel as much as one would like to and reading can fill in the gap created by the lack of travel.
"Reading", as Bacon wrote in his essay. 'Of Studies'. "maketh a full man: conference a ready man: and writing
an exact man". Thus a widely-read man is a better conversationalist and is able to see the other point of view.

Literature is a form of art which can cross barriers and if one does not know the language in which a
piece of literature is written, one is willing sometimes to learn the language. Even if one does not learn a
language one reads the literary work in translation. This contributes to the growth of understanding and
tolerance amongst people. Reading also helps one to see the present in relation to the past and the future,
and thus develop a historical perspective.

With the cinema and television taking up a great deal of attention of children, teenagers and even
adults, the habit of serious reading is dying out. People are content to read abridged versions. see films, go
through illustrated comics and be content. But just as reading should not become a substitute for the joy of
living or drive out the other forms of entertainment, other substitutes should not be accepted for the
pleasure of reading which lies in the act itself. One may be selective, may be discriminating but no one can
afford to shut himself off from this rich and ever-growing world of literature.

KELANTAN WHY DO PEOPLE BULLY

Bullying is defined as an aggressive behavior that involves negative actions. Bullying happens when an
individual or more target a single individual and use behavior that has the intention to hurt that individual.
Bullying consists of verbal bullying, physical bullying, emotional bullying, sexual bullying, racial bullying and cyber
bullying . Some of the main reason people bully are peer pressure, mental behavior, and also family issues.

In to that, bullying is also caused by peer pressure. Nowadays, bullies are popular and are liked by the
majority of their peers around. Therefore, bullies do not want to be disliked. In fact, bullies with high popularity
have the pressure to keep up that image of themselves. Furthermore, according to Craig and Peplers study, peer-
pressure to strive for social acceptance can lead to bullying. According to studies, bullies normally make friends
easier than individuals who do not bully others. Bullies usually have at least a small group of friends or clan who
support and encourage them in bullying others. The peer pressure to accept people in life. In the need and
pressure to be accepted by others, individuals will do things that they would not usually do to other to be
accepted.

Mental behavior is one of the main causes of bullying. It involves an imbalance of power and strength as
most of the bullies are physically aggressive and hot-headed. When bullies feel powerless and afraid, they are
much more likely to be aggressive, therefore they will always want to feel powerful and in control. They want to
be dominant and to be more noticeable to others. They may not even understand how wrong their behavior is.
Most of the bullies, see their own behavior as justified, they view violence in a positive way.. Moreover, bullies are
normally periodically emotional. They were once victims of bullies before.. This is because whenever a bully
watches another individual that appears weak, it disturbs his mind because it reminds him of himself causing him
to take revenge on individuals weaker than him.

Family issues are the main risk factors for bullying. Bullies normally live in homes situation where there is a
lack of warmth and little monitoring from their parents. By receiving attention and warmth from parents, children
tends to understand feelings of connectedness and empathy better as compassion and empathy seem to be
bullies main weakness. In addition, discipline also does contribute to bullying. Some parents might approach
discipline differently causing their children to be able to get away with bad behaviors. Parents might also be a
little too permissive in their daily life causing them to be unable to set limits on their children's behavior. Often,
individuals that grown up with harsh discipline is not aware that, although they may be softer than their parents
were, they are still bullying other individuals.

Bullying is a serious matter that can affect the ability of students to progress academically and socially . Peer
pressure, mental behavior, and also family issues are the main causes of bullying. As Richard L. Gross said, We
are all either bullies, bullied, or bystanders. Therefore, through good comprehensive intervention plan involving
everyone, there could be a reduction in bullying.

KELANTAN TEENAGERS LIFE NOWADAYS IS GREATLY INFLUNCED BY SOCIAL MEDIA

Online social media have gained astounding worldwide growth and popularity which has led to attracting
attention from variety of researchers globally. Although with time all generations have come to embrace the
changes social network has brought about, teenagers and young adults are the most fanatic users of these sites.
According to various research studies in the field of online social networks, it has been revealed that these sites
are impacting the lives of the youth greatly. When using these sites such as Twitter, Facebook or MySpace, there
are both positive and negative effects on the youth.

It is inevitable to ignore the fact that nowadays social network plays an essential role in teenagers lives.
Most youths are spending at least an hour in these popular social media sites. Generally, 1 out of 7 minutes which
are spent online by most of those who can access internet is spent on Facebook according to Shea Bennett. One
may ask how spending all that time on the social media sites may have a positive impact on them. Well, social
media helps the youth and any other user updated with what is happening around the world, help the teenagers
stay connected and interact with each other even if they are many miles apart. This strengthens their relationship
even if they finished school and moved to different locations they stay connected and update one another.

In addition, social media sites have provided a platform whereby the youth can create groups and pages
based on their common discipline and end up building connections and opportunities for their respective careers
by updating various topics to discuss. Youth who have been interviewed they say that social media has become
their lifestyle and it makes their lives easier and efficient.

While on one hand social network sites seems to bring people together and connected on the other hand
it creates social isolation in regard to BBC News report. As the youth tend to spend many hours on these sites,
they rarely have face-to-face interaction. According various studies, scientists evaluation determined that social
isolation can lead to a host of emotional, psychological, physical and mental problems which include anxiety,
depression and somatic complaints among many others.

Other negative effects of social networking various people suggested included encouraging poor spelling
and grammar, exposing underage to online predators, allowing spread of misinformation that is perceived as fact,
decreasing productivity as those who are supposed to be working spend time in the sites to chat, provide a
perfect platform for cyber bullying and providing details that increase risks of identity theft.

Social networking clearly portrays both positive and negative effects on the youth. It is decision of an
individual to make whether to continue using the sites or not.
KELANTAN SHOULD CHILDREN FOLLOW THEIR DREAMS OR FULFILL PARENTS WISHES

Young people are supposed to have a chance to make their own decisions and to live its consequences
even if it means failure because life is not about passing or failing its about learning from our mistakes and try not
to repeat them. After all we are humans and all humans make mistakes.

To have your kids be pleased with their job, whether it's park ranger, security guard, nurse, attorney,
artist, teacher, police officer, or the president of his country., as long as they enjoy their job, then they will
generally have happier, fuller lives. They won't have to complain about how their job is tiring, inflexible, or
unstable. Instead, they will lead great lives, at least in the career arena, and this good mood resulting from a good
job will most likely lead and positively affect other areas of their life. A parent's main goal is to make their kids feel
happy and live a good life, right? Therefore, let the kid be what they want to be, if that makes him/her pleased,
and don't interfere with it. Parents should allow their kids to follow their own path and find the career that is
right for them

On the other hand, if a parent does not allow a child to be what they aspire or dream of being, that can
pressure the kid to please the parent, and end up getting a job they detests. If they try to butt in and change the
way the kid does something they will end up with a career they do not actually like and will end up quitting or
never getting anywhere with it. A parent may think that they should choose their children's career, but that will
only lead to the child being unhappy, possibly for their entire lives in a career that they did not choose, and did
not want

In a nut shell ,I think it is important to encourage children to aspire towards whatever they would like to be
and have a variety of different options to choose from. That way, they can end up getting a satisfactory job, if not
a dream job.

SELANGOR WHAT ARE THE WAYS TO STAY SAFE ON THE ROAD

Why think of road safety at all? It is because of the accidents that occureveryday on the road, in which all
sorts of vehicles and human beings and even animal are involved. These accidents mean loss of life and loss of
property and more often than not obstruction to traffic. In this age of speed and fast moving vehicles and with the
congestion on roads, these accidents have became almost an everyday affair. So unless everybody is educated on
the importance of road safety, the loss and the sorry spectacles cannot be avoided.

Prevention is better than cure. This holds good even in the matter of road accidents. Accidents are due to
many causes and may occur under different circumstances. The simplest but at the same time dangerous perhaps
is people slipping down on the road caused by an orange or a banana peel. Without meaning any harm, quite
innocently a person may throw away the orange peel or the banana skin on the road or the sidewalk. When a
person, walking briskly, steps on, it he or she will slip down ending in fracture of bones and sometimes even more
dangerous than that. So people must take care they do not throw the pealings on the road but should deposit
them in a dust-bin. In some countries the offenders are severely punished. The second cause of accident is due to
careless crossing in busy roads. While crossing one must look to the right and left for moving vehicles and then
cross.

Road safety is a matter of education in which the school can play a significant role. Through scouting, Red
Cross and social education classes, children can be taught the importance of observing the rules of the road.
Children must be taught their limbs and lives are very valuable and they must not take risk, especially when
leaving the school. As soon as the bell goes children rush out and accidents do happen. Under the circumstances
the teachers must feel it their duty to regulate the traffic near the school. The police can cooperate with the
school in this respect.

To make the people road conscious, the mass media can play a useful role. The newspaper, the wall poster
and the cinema and now the TV come in handy. Shots in the cinema or TV emphasizing the importance of road
safety can be highlighted. There may be speeches over the radio by the police officials. During peak hours in
crowded areas, the police may direct the traffic and ask people to keep to their lanes.

SELANGOR HOW DO YOU SPEND YOUR HOLIDAYS MEANINGFULLY

Holidays are always welcome. Who can deny that? After a term of school-work, one eagerly looks forward
to the holidays and yearns for them. But when the holidays come, many find it boring. After the first flush is over,
many find it hard to spend time. It is all because they don't plan for a holiday.

It may be quite useful to plan for a holiday. But how one is going to spend them depends on one's
facilities. As for me I cannot afford to spend money on long trips visiting places and seeing things. Still I plan
always for the holidays. The following is one such plan.

I will attend to some arrears of school work like copying of notes, getting the records up to-date and so on.
Exercises which were not done in the class will be completed. I will go to the library regularly, both in the morning
and evening and do some useful supplementary reading. After all one cannot always be reading. For a change I
attend to some garden work. I am keen on gardening. It may be preparing the soil for a new plant or weeding out
grass; it may be pruning the fence. The plants require regular watering, that I shall do myself. Now I have made up
my mind to learn chess. I have already bought chessmen and a board for that. I will try to answer the problems on
chess given in the newspapers. It is not always work for me. When I feel I must have a change, I mingle with my
friends and enjoy some time in fun and frolic.

This time I want to learn some trade. I have made up my mind to learn watch repairing. So, I shall go and
sit in the watch maker's shop. My father has promised to introduce me to one. I think it will take a good part of
my time and it will fit me up to be a watch maker and repairer. Not that I want to take it as a profession but it is
worth knowing such a trade.

I have drawn up a very big plan but it remains to be seen how far I can fulfill it

SELANGOR CYBERBULLYING HAS BECOME RAMPANT

Cyberbullying is when people attack other people on the Internet through social networking sites like
Facebook, Twitter, Myspace, etc. Cyberbullying is very serious and can lead to teens being self-destructive.
Facts for teens stated that nearly 50 percent of teens have been bullied online before. Thats half of us. Nine
out of ten teens have gotten their feelings hurt online. There is just too many of us being affected by
Cyberbullying. We have to do something.
Facts for teens also stated that girls are way more likely to be victims of cyberbullying. This makes sense
because girls tend to have more drama, this concerns me because girls aren't strong enough to handle all of
the insults like guys are. Girls are more emotional and sensitive.

Cyberbullying can lead to anxiety, depression, and suicidal thoughts. Once things are posted on the Internet,
they are there forever. Like for example, a picture that was posted of my friend a while back was recently
posted all over facebook. She was truly hurt.

Sixty percent of parents say they know the kids in their community are being bullied on social networks such
as Facebook and MySpace. (Cyberbullying) My question is, has anyone out of that sixty percent tried to do
anything to stop the bullying? I bet only a couple have, because Cyberbullying still goes on daily. One of the
most shocking facts would have to be that one million kids were harassed, threatened, or subjected to other
forms of cyberbullying on facebook in the past year!(cyberbullying) Thats devastating. One million is an awful
lot of kids. This number really needs to be decreased. The age range of kids being bullied online is nine
through sixteen.(Cyberbullying) Nine years old! A nine year old can barely handle simple daily tasks; imagine
them trying to deal with being bullied over the Internet almost daily. Its very upsetting to think about.

Most of the bullying is done via instant messaging. It is proven by statistics that cyberbullying decreases kids
self-esteem. (Cyberbullying) Self-esteem is very important. A person is just incomplete without it. Middle
school students are the most likely to commit suicide.(Cyberbullying) Middle school students are very young.
Just think about your little brother or sister thinking about killing their selves. Or if youre a parent, think
about your son or daughter trying to take their lives away. (Cyberbullying)Sexting is also a version of cyber
bullying.(Cyberbullying) Many times, when girls send nude pictures to guys, they somehow get out, and the
girls nudes are quickly exposed on social networks. Think about the unbearable embarrassment that those
girls are feeling.

Only 51 percent of kids say that they dont think about the repercussions that would come with saying hurtful
things to people on the Internet. We have got to somehow get kids to understand how important it is to think
before you type mean things on the Internet.

I Safe.org stated that fifty eight percent of kids admit that they have not told a parent/adult about being
insulted online. It seems like kids are afraid to speak up about being cyber bullied. They are probably scared
of being called a snitch, or being bullied even more. Its important that we let kids/teens know that they
shouldn't be afraid to let someone know. An adult is more powerful than a kid or teen.
This can be put to a stop. If you see someone being cyber bullied when youre online, say something. You
could seriously save someones life. Dont be selfish. Will being popular matter when the person you saw
being cyber bullied takes their life away? Think before you post! It is very important to do so. You never
know how much of a negative impact your post could be on someone. Be cautious. Is your hurtful post worth
risking someones life?

SARAWAK DOES SCHOOL PREPARE US FOR LIFE ?

The school days are crammed with facts and figures, encompassing various subjects ranging from English
to Mathematics. All of these require students to learn, memorise, understand and to be tested. Besides grades
and examinations, the school also encompasses a wider curriculum including character moulding, citizenship
building and personality development. Indeed, I think the school does prepare us for life.

Firstly, the school teaches us self-discipline. We learn to keep to a schedule and to adhere to the
timetable. We also learn to appreciate time and to be punctual. Moreover, we are trained to plan and manage
time wisely. We also abide by and respect rules and regulations. The disciplined students will grow up to be
disciplined adults and they will do well in their future undertakings.

The school also helps to fortify our determination and perseverance. We learn to fulfil the demands of the
school. We also learn to meet deadlines and hand in the homework on time. Moreover, we learn to face stress
and pressure. In school, students learn to overcome challenges. Students with strength of character will be well-
prepared to face the challenges of work and life in the future.

Co-curricular activities are part and parcel of a students life. They help to mould students character and
personality so that students learn to be confident. They help to hone the leadership qualities in the students
themselves. Students learn to work together and co-operate with others. They also learn to appreciate good
values like esprit de corps. Students learn to contribute positively and to put their best foot forward besides to
take success and failure in their stride. We as the students learn to honour values of sportsmanship and fair play.
Through co-curricular activities, students also learn loyalty, commitment and responsibility. When they grow up,
they will work well as a team with others and committed in serious work.

in short, school does prepare us for life. It helps to nurture and to build strong character in ourselves.
School also prepares students with the necessary tool so that students can fit into society and contribute
positively to the nation and people in future.

SARAWAK WATCHING TELEVISION IS NOT BENEFICIAL FOR STUDENTS.

The pros and cons of watching television

One topic that has always been controversial is whether television is good or bad for us. Many parents
have condemned television as being nothing more than an `idiot box', while others have spoken much about the
benefits of television. I believe that the truth lies somewhere in between. While watching television does have
many benefits, it also has some drawbacks.
The main benefit of watching television is that it enables us to learn new things. Programs such as National
Geographic supply us with a lot of information about nature, history, culture and science, while others, like CNN,
provide us with news of what is happening around the world. Watching drama series is actually quite educational
too as it shows us human behavior, the effects of common social problems such as family breakups, alcoholism
and racial discrimination and how to deal with such issues. Besides educational value, television also provides us
with entertainment right in our homes. It is a convenient and an inexpensive way to spend some of our leisure
time.

Although television can be beneficial, watching television also has its drawbacks. One of these drawbacks
is that watching television makes us less healthy if we spend too many hours on it. While watching television,
most people are sitting down or otherwise relaxing. Furthermore, people tend to snack when they watch
television. The lack of exercise and additional calories from unhealthy snacks can lead to weight gain and even
obesity.

Another problem with television is that not all the programs are good for the viewers and especially young
viewers. Some of the modern shows portray negative values like selfishness, cruelty, vanity, jealousy, dishonesty
and even vengefulness and hatred. Desperate Housewives and Mean Girls are two examples of such shows. These
shows seem to say that gossiping, taking revenge and having extramarital affairs are normal and acceptable. They
may influence young people who watch them to do the same. That is why parents and adults should ensure that
children only watch programs with positive values.

To conclude, watching television does have both pros and cons. It is up to us to choose what we watch
carefully and only watch in moderation, so that we may enjoy the benefits without risking the drawbacks.

NEGERI SEMBILAN FAILURE IS THE STEPPING STONE TO SUCCESS- WRITE ABOUT SOMEONES EXPERIENCE THAT
REFLECTS THIS

Tony Fernandes is synonymous with Air Asia. At the age of 36, he quit as vice-president of Warner Music
Group in Southeast Asia and purchased, with three partners, ailing Malaysian airline Air Asia. As CEO, he has used
a combination of low costs, low fares and an open and informal management style to turn it into Asia's biggest
low-cost carrier.

Tony is candid, friendly and outspoken. When he came up with the idea of purchasing the airline, he told
his wife 'I really believe in this.' He felt there was a huge untapped market in Asia - millions of people wanted to
fly but could not afford it. Here is Tony's account of his recipe for success.

`Many friends cautioned me. They told me I would fail. I simply told them this: If I fail, I fail. At least I won't
be sitting and saying, when I am 60 years old, "I should have tried".'

`Don't be frightened of failing because then you'll never start and if you fail, try again,' he advises. At
Warner, Tony had spent a fortune on Malaysian singer ZainalAbidin's second album which flopped. `That didn't
stop me from pushing on with my work, my dreams.'He is always delighted when he receives a lot of letters from
people saying that he has inspired them, that they are going to try something different. `That really spurs me on.'

Don't be afraid of making mistakes. If you don't make mistakes, you'll never learn. But when you do mess
up, be the first to admit it. Don't try to cover yourself. Once in a while I do this too. For example, when I insisted
Air Asia fly from Kuala Lumpur to Penang four times a day, even though Malaysian Airlines flew the same route 12
times a day. He realized he couldn't compete against the buses. The buses pick you up and drop you off right in
the middle of each city. They get people to Penang faster. With airlines, one has to go to the airport and then back
from the airport to the city. I just said, 'Sorry guys. I messed up. It's my fault, I was wrong.' I even said sorry to my
pilots when a merit system for awarding bonuses to pilots backfired. The pilots were unhappy and made no secret
of it. They really appreciated my apologies.

When I was growing up, my parents wanted me to be a doctor like my father. After my failing in physics
and chemistry due to zero work for my A levels, my parents realized they couldn't force me to do anything I didn't
want to. My first love was always music and my dream was to own a record company. But I'm realistic. I knew I
could never raise enough money to compete with the likes of Warner and Sony. So, no matter what you love,
you've got to be a realist. I believe that most of us fail in certain aspect in our life. That failure in the stepping
stone to success.

N.SEMBILAN MY PROBLEMS AS A TEENAGERS AND HOW I DEALT WITH THEM.

Make a speech in the topic of the contest 'Social ills among teenagers'.

Good evening, honorable judges, teachers and friends.

I am glad to have been given this opportunity to talk to you today. The title of my speech is 'Social ills
among teenagers'. A lot has been said about the deviant behavior of teenagers. Our education system, the media,
teenagers themselves and their parents have been blamed. here is no need to point an accusing finger at any
particular group, but keeping mum over the issue is tantamount to condoning it. Our youths are our most valuable
assets. They are the future leaders of the nation. The harm has already been done and it is now up to us to undo
it.

One of the main reasons why our youths go astray may be the lack of parental supervision. Nowadays,
both parents go out to work. Children are left in the care of foreign maids and child-minders. As a result, they are
faced with the threat of the disintegration of the family values and thus, the rising trend in social ills and crimes
among teenagers. Parents should closely monitor the activities of their children and be understanding.

When parents are often too busy pursuing their own careers to spare some thought for the welfare of
their children, children grow up with little religious or moral guidance. When they do not get love and attention at
home, they seek attention from others who may or may not come from similar backgrounds. Thus, the social ills
affecting our youth may be a reflection of a much larger problem, such as the disintegration of the family unit.

Ladies and gentlemen, the media may also play a part in the moral degradation among teenagers.
Television programs which show violence and sex and glorify other negative aspects should be restricted. There
should also be stricter enforcement of the ban on pornographic material.

Teenagers with little or nothing to do during their spare time usually take to the streets. Therefore,
recreational facilities such as those found in sports complexes should be available to all youths. at present,
existing recreational facilities seem to either be exclusively for the rich or for older people. the establishment of
teen clubs and community centers, that do not charge high fees and that specially target teenagers, should be
given top priority.

In conclusion, ladies and gentlemen, everyone, including religious, educational and social institutions, as
well as individuals and the media, must cooperate with the authorities to combat the social ills afflicting our
teenagers. It is important that people, especially youths, do not get into the rut of moral decay. There should be a
thorough study of the problem before a proper strategy can be mapped out to channel our youths towards
healthier lifestyles.

Thank you for your kind attention and have a nice day.

WRITE A STORY ENDING WITH 'I WAS GLAD THE DAY HAD COME TO AN END.'

The landslide occurred at 6 a.m. just as we were getting ready for school. We heard a loud rumbling sound
coming from the direction of the hill slopes. Although we rushed to the balcony of our apartment on the tenth
floor, we could not see anything. The whole area was enveloped in bleak darkness. I knew that the heavy rain
during the past week must have taken its toll on the hill slopes. I pushed the thought to the back of my mind and
went about having my breakfast.
By the time we got ready for school, Dad called out to us. We rushed to the balcony where Dad was standing. The
sun was already up and in the dazzling brightness, we could see boulders the size of bulldozers resting at the foot
of the slopes. A neighbor informed us that a major landslide had occurred. We rushed to the basement. We saw
that rescue workers were already there and were removing buried vehicles from the rubble. The landslide had
also cut off the only road to town.

Office workers and school children were left stranded. We were not allowed to go anywhere near the area
where the rescue work was in progress. We could not do anything but stand and watch helplessly. There was also
a power failure which meant that we had to suffer the heat and on top of it, could not watch television.

During the initial stages, we were told that the residents from the two apartment blocks may have to be
evacuated. This caused residents a great deal of anxiety. Later, when the police, firemen and various authorities
met, they decided against the evacuation. Everyone was relieved.

We spent the whole day just watching the rescue workers at work. We prayed silently that the whole
episode would soon be over. We were told to go back to our apartments and remain there until further notice.
Later that night, we were told that the access road had been cleared and that there were no casualties or massive
damage to property. We all heaved sighs of relief when we heard this. Mum led us in saying a thanksgiving prayer.
We had a lot to be thankful for. As I got ready to go to bed that night, I recollected the events that occurred that
day. I was glad the day had come to an end.
DESCRIBE A JOURNEY ON A TRAIN

I experienced my first train journey just last year when my parents took us all to Penang for a holiday. We
arrived at the Kuala Lumpur Railway Station at 7.00 a.m. to catch the 7.30 express train to Butterworth. Crowds
had started gathering at the ticketing counter to buy tickets and there were long queues. Fortunately, we had
bought our tickets two days earlier, so we went straight to the platform. There, we waited for the train and saw
many people rushing to the platform. Children were running about happily. We quickly bought some magazines,
mints and chocolates.

The train finally arrived and we scrambled into our coach to get to our seats. I was lucky to get a good seat
near the window. At last, the guard blew the whistle and the train moved slowly and pulled out of the station. I
felt thrilled at that very moment and I enjoyed the jerky movement and the new experience.

There were friendly passengers all around and soon we started talking and joking among ourselves. The
scenery outside was interesting and varied. Trees, bushes, rice-fields and farmers' huts flashed past us and we
were greeted by village children waving and smiling at us happily. I also saw vegetable farms with rows and rows
of long beans, chilies and brinjals.

After about three hours, I felt sleepy and dozed off in spite of the rattling sound of the wheels. Suddenly,
there was a jerk and the train came to a halt. The engines hissed and the brakes squeaked. I woke up with a start
and looked out of the window. We had reached a station. Three minutes later, the train started moving again and
accelerated gradually until it was traveling at a constant speed. I spent the rest of the journey reading as the initial
excitement had gone.

Finally, the train jerked to a complete stop. We had at last reached our destination. We disembarked and
walked a short distance to board the ferry to the island of Penang. It had been a very pleasant journey, one I could
look forward to on our return to Kuala Lumpur.
MY PERFECT FUTURE HUSBAND OR WIFE

A popular saying goes, "Marriage involves three rings: the engagement ring, the wedding ring, and the
suffering."

If it is commonly felt that marriage is so difficult, why do most people wish to get married? Probably,
the instinct to find a mate is inherent in human beings; and I am no exception. Somehow, I believe that there
is someone out there who was made specially for me, and, once I find him, we will fall in love, and get
married; and only then will I feel complete. So, how will I recognise my Mr Right? What qualities should I be
looking for?

First of all, I am not looking for "Mr Tall, Dark and Handsome". Character is more important than
looks. I cannot deny that I am attracted to good-looking boys, but marrying solely for physical attraction will
probably lead to short term pleasure but life-long regret. I have also noticed that handsome boys are often
vain and arrogant, which I find most unattractive. One of the main things that I admire in a man is humility.
Such a man will not boast about his wealth, intelligence or achievements, but, instead appreciate other
people's abilities and achievements. He will also readily admit when he has made a mistake. Such a man
would be a joy to live with.

Good communication is the key to any solid relationship, most of all, marriage. I would want my
future husband to share his thoughts with me. I want to hear his dreams and to share in his struggles. On the
other hand, I will also need someone who will be ready to listen to me, and interested to know what is
happening in my life. There should be no secrets between us.

Life is full of challenges. We can expect to face failure as well as success; heartache as well as joy;
boredom as well as excitement. So, the perfect husband should have a positive attitude and a good sense of
humour. He should be witty and say things which make me laugh. The perfect husband would also be one
who can see the silver lining behind every cloud, rather than focus on the flaws in every situation. With such
a man, I will be encouraged to look at life in a happier and more positive way.

Above all other qualities, the perfect husband will be faithful. He must be someone who really
believes in that marriage is made to last "till death do us part". He will be totally committed to our
relationship, and willing to stay for the long haul, "in sickness and in health, for better or for worse"; as
couples promise in the wedding vows. The perfect husband would not be distracted by other women; not
even when I have lost my looks. He would be a "one woman man". In return, I will also promise my total
loyalty and faithfulness to my future husband.

Actually, there are many other qualities that make a man perfect husband material. For example, one
obvious quality would be the ability to provide; and, though it is not the most important quality, physical
attraction must be a part of the equation for a marriage to work well. However, while it is easy to make lists,
finding a man to live up to them will be very difficult. Furthermore, instead of focusing on my requirements
for the perfect husband, I think I should recognise my own imperfections, and set about correcting them. As
Barnett Brickner said, "Success in marriage does not come merely through finding the right mate, but through
being the right mate."
DESCRIBE ABOUT AN INTERESTING PERSON

Everyone in my school has heard of Five Kenari or 5K, my class. There are thirty-five of us, boys and girls
who are very different in appearance and character. But 5K is famous mainly because of one of my classmates,
Petra Simon, who is the most interesting person in my class.

People do not usually notice Petra when they first enter our class. This pint-sized classmate of mine sits in
the first row. She has very short, dark brown hair that is styled like a boy's. She is Eurasian but she is often
mistaken for a Chinese. She looks solemn most of the time but she has a beautiful smile. Her eyes are her most
striking features. They are bright and inquisitive and make her look mischievous.

In fact, Petra is very intelligent. She sails through every test without seeming to study very hard. She is
likable because she is humble, helpful and kind. Whenever anyone needs help, with a Mathematics problem for
example, we would ask Petra. She is such a patient teacher. She also has a good sense of humour. Her laughter is
infectious. When she laughs, the whole class also bursts into laughter.

Petra has a special talent. She can mimic anyone. It could be a teacher, another student, a famous singer
or even a cartoon character. Petra only needs to observe the target for a short while and she can act and sound
exactly like that person or character. She can even change her voice to sound like a man's! Once, she startled us
by speaking like Darth Vader, the character in Star Wars. Our history lessons are never boring because Petra can
act like any historical figure. Other classes are simply green with envy. Students often peep through our windows
to try and see Petra in action.

To conclude, there is never a dull moment when Petra is around. Class 5K is the most interesting class in
the school because of Petra. Not only is she talented but she is also a wonderful person. I am so fortunate to be in
the same class as Petra
DESCRIBE THE STEPS THAT ARE TAKEN TO PROMOTE TOURISM IN THE COUNTRY

Tourism is an important source of income to Malaysia. It is a good money-spinner because Malaysia is

blessed with beautiful scenery, historical spots, sandy beaches and its famous Malaysian hospitality. These
assets have been fully-utilized by our government to promote tourism.
The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Sports plays a major role in promoting Malaysia to tourists overseas.
Malaysia used to be little known in many countries overseas but now with much advertising in the mass
media, people have begun to consider Malaysia as the next destination for their vacation. The prominent
nationwide effort at promoting Malaysia is in the form of "Visit Malaysia Year" which was organized in 1991,
1994 and will be held again in 1996. Cultural shows and oral fests are part of the program for the "Visit
Malaysia Year". These events are crowd-pullers.

Our country aims for a constant flow of tourists into the country, instead of spurts in numbers which
coincide with events like the "Visit Malaysia Year". This is shown by efforts at developing certain locations as
tourist destinations within the country. Examples are PulauLangkawi, Pulau Pinang, MountKinabalu in Sabah
and Mulu Caves in Sarawak. The organization of tour packages is largely responsible for attracting tourists.
Without organized tours, tourists waste time arranging accommodation and transport. Travel agencies have
caught the idea and have many tour packages for various tourist spots in the country.

The income generated by the tourism industry would not be great if tourists come just once. To
ensure that tourists make Malaysia a regular destination for their yearly vacations, there have been efforts by
all quarters concerned to improve the necessary facilities. The government has built roads and highways to
save traveling time from one spot to another. Hotels and tourist resorts offer special room rates during
holiday seasons. They also have food fests which feature favorite Malaysian food like satay and laksa.
Handicraft shops are situated at convenient spots so that tourists can bring home with them mementos of
their memorable visit to Malaysia.

Even the Malaysian on the street is ever ready to give a friendly Malaysian smile which makes tourists
feel at home. And which brings them back again and again
THE IMPORTANCE OF HOMEWORK

Homework is a major part of every student's life. However, many dislike homework, as it keeps them from doing
what they want at home. Often, students will make excuses to avoid doing any homework. However, homework
actually plays a very important role in education for a number of reasons.

Firstly, homework gives students practice in what they have learnt in class. Without this additional practice,
students will usually forget what they have learnt. The extra work will also enable students to find out if they have
understood what was taught during the lesson. When the teacher marks the homework, the teacher will also be able
to check if a student needs help with a certain topic or concept. If a student has difficulty with a subject, it will be
detected from his homework and the student can receive help before it is too late.

Another benefit of homework is that it keeps students occupied in a productive activity. Without homework,
students will have a lot of time on their hands after school. They would most likely spend their time on things
which they enjoy but are not beneficial, such as playing computer games and watching television. Homework
ensures that students do some studying, which will help them do better in examinations. Otherwise, their time
would be wasted on unproductive and even unhealthy pastimes.

Besides, homework is important because it promotes self-discipline. Homework is usually done at home where
there is no supervision by teachers. Unless students have strict parents who monitor what they do, it is up to the
students to decide when to do the work or even whether to complete the task or not. With this, students would
slowly become more used to the idea of doing independent work without someone breathing down their necks.
This value will serve them well in the future, especially during work, where the ability to do independent work is a
prized skill.

To conclude, homework plays a very important role in education, even though students like to complain about it. It
provides students with valuable practice in what they have learnt, it provides students with a productive way to
spend some of their time and it builds self-discipline. It is clear then that students should not be lazy and should do
their homework diligently.
WRITE A STORY BEGINNING WITH: 'I COULD HEAR FOOTSTEPS FOLLOWING ME...'

I could hear footsteps following me. I stopped and turned to see who it was. The dim street lamp did
not allow me to see far and it looked like I was alone. I could not hear anything other than my heart thudding
away. Was it my imagination?
I was returning home after a late music lesson. My parents were attending a neighborhood watch meeting so
I had to get home on my own. The distance from my music teacher's house to my home was just
500 meters. The street was darker than I had expected but I was not very worried about the short walk home.
I was busy thinking about my upcoming music exam when I became aware that I was being followed.

I continued on my way, alert for any sound. There it was again, the sound of someone walking behind
me. Fear gripped me and I hurried on. My house was just around the corner. I decided to run. To my horror,
whoever was following me began to run too. I glanced behind me and saw a dark figure catching up with me.
The next instant, I ran into a dustbin by the road and fell flat on my front. I felt a hand grip my arm and I
screamed in panic. The hand released my arm and I pushed myself off the ground, getting ready to run again.
I found myself looking at a startled young lady dressed in a dark tracksuit.

Next moment, there was a rush of footsteps and someone calling my name. To my astonishment, my
parents appeared together with a few people I recognized as our neighbors.

The young lady who looked anxious at first now seemed as relieved as me. We were all shepherded to
our house which was just two doors away. As my mother put ointment on the bruises on my arms and legs, I
was asked to explain why I ran away from Jagdeesh, the young lady. After listening to me, Jagdeesh laughed.
She told us that she was new to the neighborhood. She had gone jogging that evening. On the way home, she
was walking behind me when she heard footsteps followingher and she decided to run when she saw me run.
It turned out that what she had heard was the neighborhood watch group patrolling the street. When I fell,
she went to help me up, which unfortunately led to my screaming out in fear.

The night ended with us having supper together. Indeed, it was a strange introduction to the
neighborhood for Jagdeesh. However, after that, we became firm friends.
WRITE A STORY BEGINNING WITH : 'THE WHOLE CLASS BURST OUT LAUGHING ...'

The whole class burst out laughing as Mohi rushed into the classroom. He was a strange sight. His
half-buttoned white shirt revealed a red striped pyjama top underneath, and instead of white school shoes,
he had on a pair of bright green sandals that were two sizes too big. The physics teacher's hand froze in the
middle of writing a formula on the blackboard.
Mohi mumbled, Sorry, teacher,' and scuttled to his seat. Mr Tan glared at the rest of the students. The
chuckles quickly subsided. Mohi's classmates always looked forward to Mondays. Nine times out of ten, they
would be entertained by Mohi's late arrival and his odd appearance which usually included inappropriate
clothing. That day, it was the pyjama top and the green sandals.

Mohi lived just a street away from the school. He walked to school daily. Students passing by in buses
would yell his name in unison just to see him jump and stop in his tracks. When he spotted the merry bunch
in the bus, he would wave good-naturedly. Although Mohi was likeable, he was too lost in his own thoughts
to make friends. His classmates found him amusing but they ignored him most of the time. Only Hamed, who
sat next to Mohi, tried to be his friend.

The following Monday, Mohi did not turn up at school. His classmates were a little disappointed but
quickly forgot about him. After school, Hamed decided to walk over to Mohi's house to check on him. As he
approached the gate, he could hear violin music. Mohi must be listening to music, he thought. The gate was
not locked. Hamed let himself in. He called Mohi's name a few times but there was no response. The music
played on. Hamed peered in through a window. His eyes widened in surprise. In the middle of the living
room, Mohi was playing the violin. His eyes were closed in concentration as he drew the bow over the strings
expertly. He played flawlessly, so much so that it sounded like a recording. Hamed left quietly.

When Teacher's Day came around, Hamed had a plan. It was the tradition of the school to have a
concert for the teachers. Every class had to contribute an item. Hamed convinced the class to let Mohi
perform. Short of ideas, the class agreed. On the day of the concert, both the teachers and students were
surprised to see the school's clumsiest student walking on stage with a violin. When he started to play, the
audience fell silent. Jaws dropped. As the last note ended, there was a moment of silence. Then the audience
erupted into thunderous applause. Mohi became a sensation and had many fans in his final year of school.

Today, Mohi and Hamed are the best of friends. Mohi is on a scholarship pursuing music in Austria.
Some days, he still arrives to class wearing an inside-out shirt or a pair of mismatched shoes.
WRITE A STORY ENDING WITH : '... WE SHOOK HANDS AND BECAME FRIENDS.'

The house next door had been empty for more than a year. Then one day, workmen arrived and
started to clean and paint the place. My siblings and I were curious about who would be moving in.

We did not have long to wait. A week after the house was spruced up, a lorry arrived. We watched
with interest as the movers carried the furniture into the house. The furniture looked expensive. Our new

neighbours must be wealthy people. However, it never occurred to us four children that rich people
may not be interested in befriending us. Our house badly needed a new coat of paint. We were clean and tidy
- most of the time - but our clothes were clearly old and worn. Father drove an old car that we could hear
coming down the road long before it was in sight. We were simple, ordinary people.

When the new occupants arrived in a big and shiny car, we jostled one another to get a good look at
them from our bedroom window. Mother had forbidden us from hanging around our gate. She said our
newneighbours needed privacy, whatever that was. A beautifully dressed lady got out of the car. To
our delight, we saw a boy and a girl about our age following her into the house. They did not look excited to
move into their new home though. That did not deter us from wanting to get to know them.

The next evening, we were playing hide-and-seek in the garden when we spotted the boy and the girl
watching us. My siblings and I went to the fence that separated our gardens. My eldest brother Kian called to
the pair. They looked at us unsmilingly. Their mother appeared next, took one look at us and shooed the two
into the house. We were disappointed to have such snooty neighbours. We decided to leave them alone after
that.

It was two weeks later that we heard screams coming from next door late one night. Father picked up
a stick and ran over to the house. Man followed suit. They found the boy and the girl weeping beside their
mother who was lying at the bottom of the staircase where she had fallen. She was unconscious. Father
called for an ambulance which arrived within minutes and took the patient to the hospital. Father brought
the children back to our house. Mother fed them some hot soup to calm their nerves. The children, whose
names were Vin and Nora, told us that they had just returned from Indonesia. Their father was still there.
Father helped them to contact their father who assured them he would catch a plane and join them as soon
as possible.

Vin and Nora stayed the night with us. My sister and I had to give up our room to them but we did not
mind. Before they went to bed, we shook hands and became friends.
WRITE A STORY WITH THE ENDING, 'BUT IT WAS TOO LATE FOR REGRETS.'

Samuel was optimistic about getting the job. The managing director who interviewed him sounded
encouraging when he told Samuel that he would be contacted in the next few days.

The following Saturday, Samuel and his friends went out to celebrate. Samuel had indeed got the job,
his very first after graduating with honors in Economics from the national university. His other friends had
also obtained jobs. They could not contain their joy and elation.

Samuel's father lent him his car for the evening. After dinner, the happy group of five young men
adjourned to a club to talk, listen to music and drink. They felt proud that they were now of legal age to drink.
Although Samuel was the designated driver that night, he did not refuse alcoholic drinks. It was past midnight
when they decided to leave the club and go home.

Walking unsteadily to the car, Samuel and his friends sang, slapped one another on the shoulders and
talked a lot of nonsense, their speech slurred. Samuel sped down the road, not thinking or seeing clearly.
When he saw the motorcyclist in front of him, it was too late. His car hit the motorcyclist with such great
impact that the poor man flew several meters into the air and landed head-first on the street. The
motorcyclist died on the spot.

When Samuel recovered from his minor injuries the next morning and found out what had happened,
he wished that he were dead. One of his friends had serious injuries while the others had escaped unscathed.

All of them had to appear in court for encouraging drunk driving. Samuel was sentenced severely for
manslaughter and driving under the influence of alcohol. But it was too late for regrets.
