OBJECTIVES

General objective

Perform a writing exercise composed of an individual and a group activity,

taking into account some themes of units 1 and 2, such as imperatives,
recommendations with "should" and other modal verbs

Build a personal profile according to the format of the activity guide

Write a recommendation to one of the group's colleagues, according to their

for his enterprise.

Mr. Angulo is highly skilled in Management and direction of Sg-SST. He has an

excellent profile with experience and capacity to lead the department of industrial
hygiene and safety. Also, with your studies, your resume and experience in business
management I recommend you for direction administrative areas of your company,
would be very good.

Ms. Rosales is a person with extensive experience in environmental management.

She knows perfectly the legal framework that the Ministry of the Environment
requires to the companies to manage the liquid and solid waste of their industrial
process. Shes the best option because she knows both the administrative field and
the operational field, and we are sure that with her, the environmental license of his
company will never have legal disadvantages.

Mr. Toro, is a person who has the competence to work as a driver of light and heavy
vehicles; he has considerable experience that can give you peace of mind when
assigning you as a driver. He's currently studying the environmental engineering
program and can apply the knowledge acquired in conservation of Environment and
correct management of the vehicles, reducing consumption and saving fuel.

CONCLUSIONS

Modal verbs are auxiliary used to give different functionalities to the main verbs. A
very common modal verb is "Should", which is used to indicate advices or to give
recommendations

The suffix ING also known as gerund has different uses in English. Some of them
are: it is used after the verb GO to refer to recreational activities or it must also be
used after a preposition if after it we write a main verb. Using the verb in its infinitive
form after a preposition is a misspelling.
