Synthesis Project

The issues with the CEO of marketing research company, is a very controlled leadership

environment. The leadership style needs adjustment to new leadership style to work more freely

and flexible with employees. The CEO only likes older people in the company, which is age

discrimination. I believe the CEO of company is not giving the chance for young generations to

work for the company. The company policy is to hire people older than 30, I believe that should

change if the CEO wants to expand the company to foreign market. Also the company lack

strong cultural environment which is very important in companies that want to grow globally

around the world.

The CEO stated that he does not like young people to work in his company due to them

being addicted to technology, social media and want nothing more to do than have fun no focus

on the job. I can certainly say that not all young people are undetermined and always looking for

fun, some young people are like me they are also focused and hard working toward all goals.

When hiring a young age group for the company there is a fresh perspective, many businesses

benefit from hiring the internet generation employees, who look at the world with different

perspectives than the older generation. By hiring young people in the company, they are satisfied

with the minimum wage, lower pay and fewer benefits. The consequence for having just one

group age like older than 30 working in the company, is that they may not know how to use the

new coming technology or what the next big thing is that everyone is talking about in social

media. Age restriction is not good for a company to expand. The CEO doesnt know of

discrimination isnt good for a company that is working on expanding their research. In order to

expand the company will need to hire new age groups, any age from proper working age, which

is 16 an older this will benefit the company in the future.

The Marketing research company sells to mainly for companies that sell consumer

electronics such as Bluetooth devices, gaming products and other audio products. Technology is

the use of the tools and knowledge to influence the environment and is always advancing.

Technology has changed the way we communicate for example: is texting, emails, and my

favorite video chatting. Of course, we will face challenges as technology improves as time goes

by. Gaming products are sold to the youth community, why not have an insight by a young

coworker on the games, that we are selling having someone from that age group is good and

would benefit the company a lot more in the future. Also the youth may know more on how to

use the products since technology is advancing just like the generations of youth.

The CEO of marketing research believe that his company is older and wants to grow the

business expand to foreign markets, he feels his employees are mature will expand the company.

In order for his company to grow globally he would need to hire more advance individuals, and

new groups of people with different ages. Globalization is flow of money, products,

information, services, expertise and people. Globalization means people and business are close

together now more than ever as technology constantly advancing by the minute. Yes, his

company may be growing but he may need to hire young people, are always looking for job he

has to recognized the age limits because there mature young people.

The CEO leadership style is dictatorial and structured. Doctorial leadership style is

controlling, bossy, and dictatorial. Structured leadership is someone who creates process of

structure for success, someone that doesnt fly off handle or make rash decision. When he states

that he has control over his people, it seems he doesnt like to be challenge. This type of

leadership is not very comfortable for people to work. Democratic leader, is a leader who seeks

input and then either makes a decision or engages the group in collective decision. I do believe

having structure is good because you want to focus on the short term goals and get them done on

time. Social responsibility, is a form of corporate self regulation that builds sustainability and

public interest into the business decision making activities.

Theres a lack of motivation, I dont see culture environment being accepted in the

company. Culture is everything that people in society have learned and share though traditions,

pass on to children and teach new members: this includes religion, beliefs, and values so much

aspects in life is an important force. If I were to work for this company, I would love to change

the leadership style to a more environment friendly and strong cultural. Also having

communication with my coworker is strong key in running a company. It is important to know

culture its a powerful driver to peoples behaviors and organizational results. Culture must be

accepted in the company as we are all different people but in a united nation.

In my conclusion, CEO of marketing research company case, the only successful part of

the company is structure and the business is growing successful. But there are many downsides

in the company the fact there is age discrimination on the youth, which I believe a couple of

young workers will benefit the company. There is very little social responsibility coming from

the CEO himself, which as a strong leader its important to know your coworkers. The company

lacks the strong culture that needs to be accepted in the company that wants to grow globally.

The leadership style in the company has to change to more flexible and friendly manner, which I

believe this democratic leadership style fits and will suit the company in the long run involving

the coworkers on decision. Ive learned that being the leader has a lot of responsibility it is

important for a leader to lead with emotional, intelligence, use power wisely and act ethically. Its

important to have strong relations with others in our teams so we all can be leaders.
