Construction of Box Culvert at Km 19/10 of Alathur-Ariyalur Road (MD-818)

Proposal:
Alathur-Ariyalur Road is a important Major District Road. It is maintained by Kunnam
Highways C&M Sub-Division under the control of Perambalur Highways C&M Division. This
road is proposed to improvements which is sanctioned under CRIDP Scheme for the year of
2017-18 Rs. 134.00 lakhs.

EXISTING DETAILS:
The existing structure is Single row of 900mm dia RCC pipe. In this structure is partially
damaged condition . So.it is necessary to reconstruction.

PROPOSAL:
The Reconstruction of the Single cell box Culvert of 1.50 m clear width and 1.50m clear height
is proposed.

FOUNDATION:
The foundation level has been proposed to be fixed at 0.600 metres below the sill level. The
structures below sill level has been proposed with depth of 0.600 metres with M25 Grade
VRCC.below which Base course of 300 mm thick vibrated Cement Concrete M 15 Grade.

SUBSTRUCTURE:
The substructure will be of vibrated reinforced Cement Concrete M25 Grade and the height of
the substructure will be 2.300 metres.

SUPERSTRUCTURE:
TheTop Slab will be of vibrated Reinforced cement concrete of grade M25 to a thickness of

300 mm.

The steel of Fe-500 Grade has been proposed for all the R.C.C. items.

The wearing coat will be of vibrated cement concrete M30 Design Mix for a uniform thickness of
75mm over the Deck Slab.

GENERAL FEATURES:
Further the provisions for the following items have been made in this sub estimate.
Provisions :
1. Earthwork excavation in all classes of soil except hand rock requiring blasting etc., complete
as per relevant standard specification for box culvert.

2. Vibrated Cement Concrete M15 nominal mix 1:2:4 using 40mm ISS HBG graded metal for
levelling course below box culvert portion

3. Vibrated Reinforced Cement Concrete M25 DESIGN MIX using 20mm ISS HBG graded
metal for box culvert.

4. Vibrated Cement Concrete M30 DESIGN MIX using ISS HBG graded metal for wearing coat
over top slabs.

5. Vibrated Cement Concrete M15 nominal mix 1:2:4 using 40mm ISS HBG graded metal for
Parapet

6. Supply and fabrication of Fe-500 Steel for box culvert

7.Sand Filling behind the Abutments and Wings with good river sand

Rates:-

This estimate is prepared as per current schedule of rates for the year 2017-18. On sanction, the
work will be executed as per MORT & H and IRC Specifications and circular instructions by the
higher authorities from time to time.
