OPERATING SEQUENCE FOR 1500T MECHANICAL PRESS

1. CONTROL ON AND EMERGENCY RELEASE

PRECONDITIONS:

A. Single phasing preventor is healthy.

B. Control Panel doors are closed.
C. Safety blocks are ok.

SEQUENCE:

A. Put “CONTROL ON” Selector Switch in “ON” position.

B. Press “CONTROL ON” PB. ( Emergency active message displayed on MMI &
reset lamp glows )
C. Release all “EMERGENCY STOP” Pushbuttons.
D. Press “RESET” push button to release emergency.

2. LUBRICATION & GREASE

PRECONDITIONS:

A. Control is on.
B. Lubrication MPCB is ok.
C. Oil level & Lubrication Pressure Low Pressure Switch ok.
D. Lubrication Motor Stop after 2 Minutes (If Oil Level & Minimum Pressure both
are Low).
E. Lubrication Motor Stop after 20 Minutes (If minimum Pressure is not healthy).
F. Grease level ok.

SEQUENCE:

A. Lubrication Motor will start automatically.

3. MAIN MOTOR

PRECONDITIONS:

A. “Emergency” is released.
B. Lubrication priming is completed.
C. Main motor MPCB is ok.
D. Flywheel brake PB is released.
E. Flywheel brake pressure switch is healthy.
F. Motor stop PB is released.

 If all above conditions are true Motor Start Pushbutton will start blinking.
SEQUENCE:

A. Press motor on PB for 2 sec. motor starts running in forward direction.

B. For running motor in reverse, motor should be at stand still then change direction
from MMI & press motor start PB for 2 sec.

4. HYDRAULIC O/L CHARGING

PRECONDITIONS:

A. “Emergency” is released.
B. Inch selected.
C. Slide is at TDC (If not take slide at TDC in “INCH MODE”).
D. HOL motor MPCB ok.
E. HOL charging starts through the charging solenoid and holds after pressure
switch.

SEQUENCE:

A. HOL charging starts automatically at TDC in INCH mode.

5. SLIDE ADJUSTMENT

PRECONDITIONS:

A. “Emergency” is released.
B. Slide adjustment SS is selected.
C. Slide adjustment MPCB on.
D. Counter balance cylinder Pressure is ok.
E. Hydraulic Overload is charged.
F. MB in & clamped.
G. Lubrication system is healthy.
H. Slide is at TDC/BDC.
I. UP & DOWN PB starts blinking if all above conditions are true.

SEQUENCE:

A. Press “UP PB”, Adjustment in up direction will stop if upper stopping limit (Hard
or soft) is reached, (UP PB stop blinking).
B. Press “DOWN PB” Adjustment in down direction will stop if lower stopping limit
(Hard or Soft) is reached, (DOWN PB stops blinking).
 6. CUSHION ADJUSTMENT

PRECONDITIONS:

A. “Emergency” is released.
B. Cushion adjustment SS is selected.
C. Cushion adjustment MPCB on.
D. Counter balance cylinder Pressure is ok.
E. Hydraulic Overload is charged.
F. MB in & clamped.
G. Grease Lubrication system is healthy.
H. Slide is at TDC.
I. Cushion at home.

SEQUENCE:

A. Press “UP PB”, Adjustment in up direction will stop if upper stopping limit (Hard
or soft) is reached, (UP PB stop blinking).
B. Press “DOWN PB” Adjustment in down direction will stop if lower stopping limit
(Hard or Soft) is reached, (DOWN PB stops blinking).

7. CLUTCH ENGAGEMENT CONDITIONS GENERAL

PRECONDITIONS:

A. “Emergency” is released.
B. Lubrication system is healthy (top stop).
C. Counter balance air pressure healthy.
D. Clutch & brake air pressure healthy.
E. Selector SW position is ok.
F. Photo guard healthy.
G. Immediate stop is released.
H. Main motor drive is healthy.
I. Main motor running at or above minimum clutch engagement speed.
J. MB in & clamped.
K. Safety guards closed.
 8. INCH MODE

PRECONDITIONS:

A. “Emergency” is released.
B. Lubrication system is healthy (top stop).
C. Counter balance air pressure healthy.
D. Clutch & brake air pressure healthy.
E. Selector SW position is ok.
F. Photo guard healthy.
G. Immediate stop is released.
H. Main motor drive is healthy.
I. Main motor running at or above minimum clutch engagement speed.
J. MB in & clamped.
K. Safety guards closed.
L. INCH mode is selected.

SEQUENCE:

A. Press cycle start two hand Push button for RBS Selection (Cycle stops as soon as
PB is released).
B. Cycle stops at TDC if PB is continuously pressed up to TDC, released PB & press
again to start the cycle again.

9. SINGLE AUTO MODE

PRECONDITIONS:

A. “Emergency” is released.
B. Lubrication system is healthy (top stop).
C. Counter balance air pressure healthy.
D. Clutch & brake air pressure healthy.
E. Selector SW position is ok.
F. Photo guard healthy.
G. Immediate stop is released.
H. Main motor drive is healthy.
I. Main motor running at or above minimum clutch engagement speed.
J. MB in & clamped.
K. Safety guards closed.
L. Hydraulic O/L is charged.
M. Motion detection ok (Checked after clutch engagement).
N. Motor is running in forward direction.
O. Slide position is ok i.e. Slide is at TDC.
P. Single auto mode is selected.
Q. Anti repeat is ok (In case of anti-repeat slide will stop at TDC).
SEQUENCE:

A. Press both “CYCLE ON” pushbuttons on Two Hand Station/Stations

simultaneously, cycle starts & held by Carry over Cam.
B. Cycle stops at TDC.

10. SINGLE AUTO MODE

PRECONDITIONS:

A. “Emergency” is released.
B. Lubrication system is healthy (top stop).
C. Counter balance air pressure healthy.
D. Clutch & brake air pressure healthy.
E. Selector SW position is ok.
F. Photo guard healthy.
G. Immediate stop is released.
H. Main motor drive is healthy.
I. Main motor running at or above minimum clutch engagement speed.
J. MB in & clamped.
K. Safety guards closed.
L. Hydraulic O/L is charged.
M. Motion detection ok (Checked after clutch engagement).
N. Motor is running in forward direction.
O. Slide position is ok i.e. Slide is at TDC.
P. Single auto mode is selected.
Q. Anti repeat is ok (In case of anti-repeat slide will stop at TDC).
R. Continuous auto mode is selected.

SEQUENCE:

A. Press “CONTINUOUS PRESET” Pushbutton on RBS-1 & then press “CYCLE

ON” Pushbuttons simultaneously within 5 sec. of pressing Continuous preset
button.
B. Cycle starts in continuous mode; cycle stops at TDC in case cycle stop is pressed.
 11. MOVING BOLSTER (MB) OPERATION

PRECONDITIONS:

A. Die changed mode selected/Inch mode.

B. Respective MB mode is selected i.e. moving bolster selector switch is ON.
C. Slide should be at TDC.
D. Cushion at home position.
E. Respective MB should be in (for clamp/declamp operation).
F. MB hydraulic motor on (for clamp/declamp operation).
G. Respective safety guards open.
H. Moving Bolster AC drive healthy.

SEQUENCE:

A. UP PB starts blinking, press UP PB to declamp MB.

B. When MB bolster is declamped MB IN/OUT PB starts blinking.
C. Press MB IN/OUT PB for MB movement, movement stops if extreme outer or
inner limit is reached for respective MB.
D. When MB is inside DOWN PB starts blinking, press DOWN PB to clamp.

12. SAFETY GUARDS OPERATION

PRECONDITIONS:

A. Controls on.
B. Die changed mode selected. (Inch Mode)
C. Respective safety Guards MPCB on.

SEQUENCE:

A. For respective Safety Guard, select group up. (Guard movement will be enable till
upper limit), select guard down for down movement. (Movement will be enable
till lower limit).

13. SAFETY INTERLOCKS

A. Check the working of all emergencies.

B. Check the working of all safety blocks, safety plugs and ladder limit switch.
C. Ensure the proper working of all extreme limits for the slide adjustment and
cushion adjustment.
D. Check the functioning of the photoelectric guard.
E. All the filters should be checked.
F. RBS synchronization.
G. Ant repeat function in single mode.
H. Clutch/brake & counter balance air pressure setting.
