I. Scholarships and Fellowships

PRE- AND POST-DOC FELLOWSHIPS AT THE HARVARD ACADEMY FOR INTERNATIONAL AND AREA
STUDIES
Application deadline: October 1, 2010

The Harvard Academy for International and Area Studies is dedicated to increasing our knowledge of the culture, history, and
institutions of the world's major regions and countries. The Academy Scholars Program identifies and supports outstanding
scholars at the start of their careers whose work combines disciplinary excellence in the social sciences (including history and
law) with a command of the language, history, or culture of non-Western countries or regions. Their scholarship may elucidate
domestic, comparative, or transnational issues, past or present.

Academy Scholars are appointed for 2 years by the Harvard Academy for International and Area Studies and are
provided time, guidance, and access to Harvard facilities. They receive substantial financial and research assistance to
undertake sustained projects of research and/or acquire accessory training in their chosen fields and areas. The Senior
Scholars, a distinguished group of senior Harvard faculty members, act as mentors to the Academy Scholars to help them
achieve their intellectual potential.

The competition for these awards is open only to recent Ph.D. (or comparable professional school degree) recipients and
doctoral candidates. Those still pursuing a Ph.D. should have completed their routine training and be well along in the writing
of their theses before becoming Scholars; those in possession of a Ph.D. longer than 3 years are ineligible. Each year four to
five Academy Scholars are named for two-year appointments. Scholars are expected to reside in the Cambridge/Boston area for
the duration of their appointments unless traveling for pre-approved research purposes.

Post-doctoral Scholars will receive an annual stipend of $48,000, and pre-doctoral Scholars will receive an annual
stipend of $28,000. This stipend is supplemented by funding for conference and research travel, research assistants, and
health insurance coverage. Some teaching is permitted but not required. Applications are welcome from qualified persons
without regard to nationality, gender, or race.

Scholarships for International Students

Allegheny College has generous assistance available to international students. All international applicants will be
considered for scholarships ranging from $5,000 to half- and three quarter-tuition. In addition, international students
may be eligible for larger financial aid awards, including and up to full-tuition scholarships.

All international applicants, in order to be considered for these scholarships, must submit both the International Student
Financial Aid Form and the Certification of Finance Form with their applications. We recommend that while completing the
Certification of Finances, international applicants plan on a five-percent increase in costs annually.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS AT UTICA COLLEGE (NY)

Utica College is a small, friendly campus of 2,200 students located in the suburbs a of a small
upstate New York city of 60,000. However, we are in the heart of the Northeastern US and the
Ontario-Quebec corridor. We are only a 4 to 5 hour drive from Toronto, New York City, Montreal
and Boston.

We have sizeable, merit-based financial aid for qualified international students. Limited financial assistance is available for
non-U.S. citizens. International students may qualify for aid in the form of:

* Grants: Grants are awarded on the basis of outstanding academic achievement, range from $2,000 to $12,000 per year.
These do not require a separate application.
* Loans: Private loans are available to students with either a U.S. citizen or a permanent resident as a co-signer.
* Student Employment: Limited student worker positions are available on campus.

CERTIFICATE IN PLASTICS ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY AT SHAWNEE STATE UNIVERSITY

The one-year CADD certificate program allows you to quickly develop skills in drafting and CADD operation.
It prepares you for an occupation as a drafter or CADD operator using the latest version of Auto CADD. In
this two-semester program, you take a minimum of six CADD/drafting courses. The remaining two electives
allow you to explore other areas of technology and to specialize in an individual field of study. If you wish
to further your studies after completing the certificate, you may choose to continue in the associate degree
program in CADD.
