NOTE 2: The position information comes from two GPS for ECDIS. Usually the GPS1 is master.
So there is only GP1 on the panel. When the GPS1 is out of order, the ECDIS will switch to the
GPS2 automatically. And the GP2 will be displayed on the panel. WhenbothGPSareoutof

NOTE2: When the True is selected, the own ship moves on the ENC. When the Relative is
selected, the own ship is locked on the screen and the ENC is moving according to the speed.
NOTE3: The ground stabilisation indicator is presented as a double arrowhead. The water
stabilisation indicator is presented as a single arrowhead.
NOTE4: The speed vector will be changed when the mariner change the scale for the current
ENC. The speed data comes from speed log (relative to water) or GPS (relative to ground). And
the ECDIS keeps monitoring the both data. So the speed vector will be changed only when the
scale for current ENC is large enough. For example, if the scale is 1:1000000 or 1:500000, there
21
is little change on the vector indication. But when the scale is 1:50000 or larger, there will be
much change on the vector indication. Like Figure 1.29.
