I would like to invite you to participate in this research project. You should only participate if you want
to; choosing not to take part will not disadvantage you in any way. Before you decide whether you want
to take part, it is important for you to understand why the research is being done and what your
participation will involve. Please take time to read the following information carefully and discuss it with
others if you wish. Ask us if there is anything that is not clear or if you would like more information.
What is the purpose of the study and why have I been invited?
The aim of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of the Interprofessional Pain Education you will be
undertaking and formally gather feedback. This survey will help us understand the impact on learners
and plan for future educational initiatives. We are inviting all second year students who are taking part
in the learning unit.
For the follow up questionnaires, we will contact all students via email. To thank you for your
participation, you have the option to be entered into a prize draw to win one of two 25 Amazon
vouchers. There will also be opportunities to provide general feedback online about the e-learning
content and during the interprofessional workshop in the classroom.
If you decide to take part you are still free to withdraw at any time and without giving a reason. A
decision to withdraw at any time, or a decision not to take part, will not affect your access or
experiences during the learning unit. You may also withdraw any data you have already provided up
until your username is removed from the data set after the final questionnaire (May 2019).
