CLIENT informs Kwikparts Technical /AE of the WARRANTY CLAIMS Request for Technical
Evaluation
Method of Evaluation:
a. Inspect Physical Appearance of the battery. Check for:
Terminal Damage caused by loose connection or over tightening;
Terminal Sulfation caused by poor maintenance or circuit problem;
Bloated battery case caused by overcharging/ageing.
b. Perform Load Test:
Use Digital Tester (if any); if not available, report to Kwikparts Technical.
NOTE : Do not open vent plugs / remove stickers. It may void the warranty.
Perform routine Voltage Checkup at least every 3 months and maintain 100% OCV. Charge
Battery if needed. (at least below 12.5 v)
BATTERY TESTING
After recharging, allow the battery to sit for several hours (at least 2 hrs) to allow for the surface
charge to dissipate.
Connect a load tester across terminals. Side post batteries may require test adapters. Never use
a bolt for testing purposes.
BATTERY CHARGING
If the battery is below 12.5v or not to be passed the load test, you should recharge it as soon as
possible to restore it to peak performance and to prevent lead sulfation.
Charge in a well ventilated area. (Hydrogen gas generated during charging is explosive)
If the battery sprays electrolyte through the vent or gets hot (over 52 degrees celcius), the
charging process must be slowed or stopped for time to allow the battery to cool.
Maximum voltage output across battery terminals can be maintained at constant level for two (2)
hours.
Failure or malfunction of the vehicles charging and electrical system which shall include, but is
not limited to, failure or malfunction of the vehicles alternator and regulator.
Damage to the vehicle whatsoever caused due to improper and/or unauthorized installation of
the battery.
