ACTIVITY HAZARD RISK CONTROL MEASURES RESPONSIBILITY

RISK CONTROL MEASURES RESPONSIBILITY
* A storage building excusivly for paint, thiners etc.
shall be constructed preferably brick built and
maintained at a distance of 30m from job site and
other facilities.
* Storage building to be provided with good
ventilation
* Adequate fire exits to be provided. Such exits
must not be obstructed (inside and outside).
* Flammable materials shall be stored tidily with
gangways for access / egrees.
* Empty and full containers will be segregated from
each other.
* Provide suitable locks etc. and spare keys to be
provided to the safety team for use during
emergency situation.
* Adequate numbers of the extinguishers to be
kept by exits in the storage building and in addition
extinguishers kept outside of building.
* Sign boar'Flammable Material; and 'No Smoking;
'No naked Light' etc displayed.
* Access and other roadwyas must be kept free
from obstruction due to emergency.
* Job supervisor and other related persons at the
work site.
* All other persons not associated with the scaffold
erection do not enter in erection area.
 ACTIVITY HAZARD RISK CONTROL MEASURES RESPONSIBILITY
* Falls of Person during scaffold * Scaffold area to be cordoned off with barrier, etc
erection. and warning sign provided i.e. "keep out".
* No scaffold shall be erected, moved eccept under
the supervision of competent scaffolder.
* Install specific ladder and other temporary
facilities in accordance with the work safety plan
and IOCL/EIL Safety rule & regulations.
* All material to be inspect prior to use. Every week
inspection required by competent person or job
supervisor and fill the green tag with remarks.
Follow SECL scaffolding tag system.
* Use right tools for erection and all tools should be
inspected prior to use.
* All scaffold work done by experienced and skilled
scaffold crew only.
* Do not put body force for tie up the structure, tie
in work by right tools only.
* During assembly of scaffold tie of seperate ledger
that are locked in to place.
* Secure hand tools in place with safety lanyards.
* If scaffold are sheeted / planking then calculation
will needed to ensure the safe working & wind
loading on the scaffold structure.
* Inspection made by competent scaffold
supervisor prior to use. If acceptable then use
Green Tag, during erection use Red and same in
dismentling.
* Scaffold must not be use until the Green Scaff
Tag has been issued and displayed on scaffold.
* Appropriate PPE to be worn at all the time i.e.
Helmet, safety shoe, Goggles, Full body
harness,etc. and aatached to a strong fixing poin.
* Falling object such as paint drums * Mechnical lifting device to be used to deliver paint
and other material lifted. etc. onto the scaffold working platforms.
* Paint containers etc. to be secured to prevent
movement during lifting.
* Fall of persons. * A loading platform to be consutructed in the

accordance with the MSDS sheets specifying the
hazards associated in using the substances.
