New since the Upgrade to Release 1702

Starting with the upgrade to release 1702, we are going to have a process change
during the test upgrade window:

Additional Emergency Patch (EP) Deployment (Tue, Thu) during the 2 week after test
upgrade in the test tenant
Customers can verify EP prior to the productive upgrade

The test tenant will be frozen* after the EP deployment on Thursday prior to productive
upgrade
Productive tenant will be upgraded to same state as the customer test tenant

*SAP may deploy further EP under very exceptional circumstances.

One Optional Test Period for our Customers

This test period provides you with the following opportunities:

1. Your business process testing period
In case you identified an issue with your SAP Cloud test tenant
open support request via your SAP Cloud tenant (incident short text starts with Upgrade .)
describe in detail the issue as well as the business impact
SAP receives the incident at the latest on Wednesday 11:00 pm, before your productive upgrade weekend
SAP will confirm the business criticality and the possible consequences to your upgrade schedule at least the
day before the productive upgrade

2. Your standard testing period

to achieve early awareness of enhancements
to determine the requirement of individual enablement scenarios for your colleagues
customer individual extensions or integration scenarios

Important Update: All previously requested restore points can still be used for a restore after the productive upgrade.

 Restrictions During Upgrade

Business Configuration is possible at any time in both test and productive tenant
but without data transfer between the tenants.
Incidents will no longer be closed as part of the upgrade process.

Important: No merge back for Change Projects possible while test tenants are upgraded and production tenants are not

SAP strongly recommends the following:

Do not terminate or request a test tenant or productive tenant during the time between Test-Upgrade
and Productive-Upgrade
Avoid a Go-Live during this phase during the time between Test-Upgrade and Productive-Upgrade
Avoid applying SAP Cloud Applications Studio add-ons during the time between Test-Upgrade and
Productive-Upgrade
No productive data transfer (migration) during productive upgrade weekend

Managing Your Tenant Landscape Via Self Services
Customers can manage their tenants in the work center Service Control Center by themselves.

Existing Tenants
To get an overview of your existing tenants, please open you Service Control Center and click on the Active
Tenants link.

Requesting a New Test Tenant

Customers who have bought a SAP Cloud solution are entitled to have one initial test tenant per productive
tenant.

If you have utilized all purchased test tenants and need to request a new test tenant, you have the following
two options:
- Request the termination of an existing test tenant before requesting a new test tenant
- Purchase an additional test tenant. Once the order is processed by SAP, you will be able to request a new
test tenant

Termination of Existing Tenants

A new functionality is provided to you to terminate tenants by yourself.
