Opening (warmer activity + teacher introduction/demonstration of small group activities)


Time: 10 min

Children will sing the count to 20 song twice. Then I will explain to them how we should count in order
and what order mean. Then I will ask them if they can start count from any number, and we will play a game,
Whole

which gives the children number and let them say five numbers after the number I give them.

I will give the children instruction of each activity and what they will do.

Guided Experience (group working with the teacher)


High-level students
Counting yarn plates activity (Individuals)
Materials they will be used: plate and yarn

Students will complete the numbers that came after the number that is written in the middle of the plate by
using yarn.
Time: 15 min

Independent Experience (small group activity 1)


Small

Meduim-level students
Number wheel card activity (Individuals)
Materials they will be used: wheel card and clothes clips

Students will hold the clothes clip with the correct number on the number of points on the wheel card.

Independent Experience(small group activity 2)


Meduim-level students
Number line activity (Individuals)
Materials they will be used: number line card and paper clips
Each student will have a row of numbers. In each number, children should hang the paper clips. For example,
if it is 13 children should hang 13 paper clips, and if it is 0, they shouldnt attach any clips.

Independent Experience(small group activity 3)


Low-level students
Number sticks activity (Individuals)
Materials they will be used: number wood sticks and rubber bands

Each student will have five to six sticks. They should place the rubber bands on each stick. For example, if it is
written 20 children should put 20 rubber bands on the stick.

Closing

Bring the students back together.


Select 20 students and give them numbers between 1 and 20.
Time: 5 min

Ask the group to get in order from 1-20.


Whole

Count together from 1 to 20

Plan B: if its no time for the number line activity or we have more time, I will open an online game called
Balloon Pop Math to children count from 1 to 20.

Assessment

Observe the students if they can count from any number.


Observe how the students do their activities.
