Goals To inform students about basic characteristics of butterflies

Are butterflies different sizes?
Unit Summary
The students will investigate the life cycle of a butterfly as well as its defining characteristics.
They will compare and contrast butterflies and explain why they are important to our
environment. The students will learn inquiry skills during the science lesson. During the math
lesson, students will learn measuring skills while discussing the sizes of butterflies. For ELA,
students will develop their writing skills. In the social studies lesson, the students will learn
about maps and the world when discussing where different butterflies live
