TASK HAZARDS CONTROLS


1.Close off welding area. 1a.Flashing 1a1.Close welding curtain to shield outsiders from flashing.
2.Prepare for arc welding. 2a.Inhalation of fumes 2a1.Turn on exhaust fan and timer.
2b.Flashing 2b1.Wear welding hood.
2c.Sparks 2c1.Wear welding jacket, apron, gloves, work shoes.
2d.Slag splatter 2d1.Wear welding jacket, apron, gloves, work shoes.
3.Turn on power and 3a.Tripping 3a1.Take care to keep wire untangled and free from under feet.

4.Insert arc welding rod in 4a.Pinch to fingers 4a1.Keep fingers away from pinch points.
