SYNONYMS:
kale of the Age of Kali; doa-nidhe in the ocean of
faults; rjan O King; asti there is; hi certainly; eka
one; mahn very great; gua good quality; krtant by
chanting; eva certainly; kasya of the holy name of
Ka; mukta-saga liberated from material bondage; param to
the transcendental spiritual kingdom; vrajet one can go.
TRANSLATION:
My dear King, although Kali-yuga is an ocean of faults, there is still
one good quality about this age: Simply by chanting the Hare Ka
mah-mantra, one can become free from material bondage and be
promoted to the transcendental kingdom.
kte yad dhyyato viu
trety yajato makhai
dvpare paricaryy
kalau tad dhari-krtant
SYNONYMS:
kte in the Satya-yuga; yat which; dhyyata from
meditation; vium on Lord Viu; tretym in the Tret-
yuga; yajata from worshiping; makhai by performing
sacrifices; dvpare in the age of Dvpara; paricaryym by
worshiping the lotus feet of Ka; kalau in the Age of Kali; tat
that same result (can be achieved); hari-krtant simply by chanting
the Hare Ka mah-mantra.
TRANSLATION:
Whatever result was obtained in Satya-yuga by meditating on
Viu, in Tret-yuga by performing sacrifices, and in Dvpara-
yuga by serving the Lords lotus feet can be obtained in Kali-yuga
simply by chanting the Hare Ka mah-mantra.
 nma-sakrtana yasya
sarva-ppa praanam
pramo dukha-amanas
ta nammi hari param
SYNONYMS:
nma-sakrtanam the congregational chanting of the holy
name; yasya of whom; sarva-ppa all sins; praanam which
destroys; prama the bowing down; dukha
misery; amana which subdues; tam to Him; nammi I offer
my obeisances; harim to Lord Hari; param the Supreme.
TRANSLATION:
I offer my respectful obeisances unto the Supreme Lord, Hari, the
congregational chanting of whose holy names destroys all sinful
reactions, and the offering of obeisances unto whom relieves all
material suffering.
