INTRODUCTION METHODS
Pregestational diabetes is associated
with potential adverse outcomes for the mother and 220 women attended in a specialized prenatal care
the newborn, which may depend on the epoch facility.
women were treated, due to different standards of Clinical characteristics as weight, body mass index (BMI),
care and maternal clinical characteristics across time. preeclampsia, cesarean section and newborn outcomes
were evaluated.
Epoch of care was stratified from 2005 until 2010 (period
OBJECTIVE 1) and after 2010 (period 2).
Analyses were performed applying the Student's t-test
The objective was to evaluate clinical and the chi-square test and using the version18 of SPSS.

CONCLUSION
Nowadays, women in reproductive age are frequently diagnosed as having type 2 diabetes, in parallel
with the higher rates of obesity; even those with type 1 DM presented higher pre-gestational weight in the later time.
The nutritional transition is also reflected in women with pre-gestational diabetes.
