Kolkata - Siliguri Guwahati Shillong

Day Route Distance Activities

Start before sunrise and aim for the Moon (Siliguri) if we miss it, at least well
Day 1 23rd Sept 2017 Kolkata to Kishanganj / 470 Kms / land among the Stars (Kishanganj).
(Saturday) Siliguri 571 Kms 570 Kms equals at least 12 hours of riding (excluding breaks)!
Tough but surely doable.
On Day 2 we shall ride along the foothills of the Himalayas.
Day 2 24th Sept 2017 Kishanganj / Siliguri to 243 Kms /
Many Wildlife Sanctuaries (Gorumara, Jaldapara, Buxa, etc.) on the way to, and
(Sunday) Alipurduar 158 Kms
around Alipurduar. We may decide to have a stopover.
Day 3 25th Sept 2017 Day 3 will take us to Guwahati.
Alipurduar to Guwahati 305 Kms
(Monday) 305 Kms or approximately 6 hours of riding.
Have an early morning darshan at the Kamakhya Temple.
Day 4 26th Sept 2017
Guwahati to Shilllong 99 Kms Leave Guwahati for a short but picturesque ride to Shillong, with the Umiam

Lake on the way.
Day 5 27th Sept 2017
Shillong --- Local sightseeing in Shillong Elephant Falls, Wards Lake, Shillong Peak, etc.
(Wednesday)
Next, we go to Asias cleanest village Mawlynnong.
Day 6 28th
Sept 2017 But, first we can go to Krem Lymput Caves in Nongjri Village, which falls on
Shillong to Mawlynnong 79 Kms
(Thursday) the way.
Once in Mawlynnong, wed visit the famous Living root bridges.
Day 7 29th Sept 2017 We ride another 105 Kms to Mawsynram, the wettest place on earth.
Mawlynnong to Mawsynram 105 Kms
(Friday) We would get to see the nature made stalagmite Shivalinga in Mawjymbuin Cave
Day 8 30th Sept 2017 Another day, another short ride.
Mawsynram to Shillong 60 Kms
(Saturday) We ride back to Shillong with a stopover in the sacred forests of Mawphlang.
Day 9 01st Oct 2017 Shillong to Bongaigaon via We start our ride back home with first stopover at Bongaigaon via Guwahati.

(Sunday) Guwahati
Day 10 02nd Oct 2017 Bongaigaon to Siliguri / 290 Kms / Bongaigaon to Siliguri or Kishanganj i.e. 290 or 390 Kms.
(Monday) Kishanganj 393 Kms
Day 11 03rd Oct 2017 Siliguri / Kishanganj to 571 Kms / Trip Ends.
(Tuesday) Kolkata 470 Kms

Day 12 and Day 13 as buffer days for exigencies.
